Would someone please tell me if this bag is authentic? I’m leery of buying a bag from a consignment store that still has it’s “original” tags on it :push:

Please help!

Holy **** !! I found a red blake!!! It looks good to me....but want more opinions..I read all of her feedback...Looks good too......Geez and I was going to take advantage of the 25% Shop twigs sale....OMG is this my beautiful red bag that I've been looking for!?!?! :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: Thank you!!!

eBay: MARC JACOBS BLAKE NEW NWT!! RED! SAKS TAGS!! REAL DEAL! (item 320049862894 end time Nov-20-06 18:35:42 PST)

Looks like you found your red bag!! Was just drooling over this one on ebay and thought of your quest... What a perfect bright, fire-engine red - just like you said you wanted! And good deal too. I think this bag is authentic b/c it has the Off 5th Saks outlet tags still attached to it. Probably the seller got lucky to find such a beauty at Off 5th and paid like $499 for it and now is trying to make a little profit. But it's still a great price and you won't find this baby anywhere else!! You should snap it up before I do! hehe ;) (j/k I wouldn't dream of getting in the way of a fellow TPF-er! But PM me if you decide you don't want it  )

No problem! Another thing I noticed is that the seller sells a lot of sexy lingerie and has those as public auctions. But she has a lot of private auctions as well. It makes me think she's hiding something.
She's been mentioned before in this thread for selling fake MJ bags and wallets... I'd def stay away from anything she sells.

Hi, THITHI, Could You tell me please how it is about authentic ELISE BOSTON because on Marc Jacobs site they have very wrinkly texture of the patent but when I see picures of celebrities carrying this bag it isn't look so wrinkly, just like this which Paris carry. Thanks.
Hi! Thanks for asking... I would hate for anyone to get a fake. From afar, the texture doesn't look wrinkly, but close up, there is definitely a difference. Here's a good photo of what to look for:

Another key feature is to look at the side buckles, most fakes place them too low on the bag. It should be towards the middle bottom of the bag.

If you search the auth thread and the rest of the MJ forum, you'll find useful tips when looking for a patent elise on ebay. There's also plenty of pictures of auth bags from our members. Compare these pics to any bags you are thinking of purchasing.

I've also read the TFS threads from top to bottom, and they contain pictures of auth bags too, but it's hard to filter thru all the posts and find photos. If you have time, go through those too because there are useful hints there.

Lyo, there are super fakes with many correct details of Fall 05 Stams (burgundy suede lining & bronze hardware). By having many details correct doesn't make it authentic, all the details have to be right. Honestly, I don't think that $400 is possible for an authentic Fall 05 Stam. I am sure that there are members who disagree with me on this, but the majority of people know that low price range is just not realistic for Fall 05 Stam. Really....

If you need your sister's bag authenticated, there are some Stam experts (on TFS) who know the inside & outside of Stams from that season (they follow Stams right from the very beginning) that could help you. IMO, no one has more knowledge on 1st generation Stams than those 'details-freaks' (meant as a compliment) TFSers.

And yes, some stams don't have all the diamonds properly lined-up.

After looking at my new original black stam that I bought for $1,000+ from the States, however, and the $400+ one from eBay, I really thought it was original because everything seemed identical (although the smell of the leather was slightly different and her interior was a mauve/maroon type of color, while mine is cream).

Then I took a look at the bottom of the bag in comparison to mine and realized that my bag has a perfect alignment of diamonds, but hers doesn't have them perfectly aligned. The diamonds are offset from each other.

Is this justifiable to determine that the bag is a fake? If so, I will immediately tell the seller to refund my money. I'll feel bad about my sister winding up with nothing, but I think that's a better deal than getting screwed by someone off eBay.

Thanx for that!..But that's OK...Go for it! I just called Saks Off 5th in PA and got one! I know! I'm so glad I found it! the phone # is 215-632-5600 if you want to see if they have another one! Good Luck! Emmy

The good news is that this seller's known for selling authentic stuffs.

Take more pictures when you receive this bag. I will ask several Stam experts from TFS (they know the inside/outside of Fall 05 Stams) to check it out for you. =)

BAGLOVER....? HELP! it finally arrived on the dot at 12 noon as fedex scheduled it (fedex is really great!). the leather is supple and everything is great BUT, THERE ARE THESE YELLOWISH GUMMY GUNK DRIED GLUE THINGY ALL OVER THE FRAME AND BETWEEN THE FRAME AND THE BAG. IS THIS A BAAAD SIGN...? i think my heart just stopped beating.... CAN ANY OF YOU TELL ME IF THIS IS A SIGN OF DAMNATION?

What does everyone think about this one?

I feel that I am pretty good at authenticating most MJ bags, but the Stam is still a mystery to me. This price on this bag seems too low, but it DOES have some wear and tear. The seller's other transactions look legit - she just seems like someone who sells a lot of gently used bags. I don't know what to think! Anyway, more trying to educate myself than buy this bag, so feel free to list signs of fakeness if you see them!:flowers:

I don't see anything immediately wrong with this bag. You're right, the bronze stam shows some normal wear and tear of the bronze leather. And you're smart for looking up the seller's selling history. I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary there either. The only thing I noticed was that the long rectangular tag doesn't have the price on the bottom. As for the listing price, who knows? Sellers use their own discretion for setting the initial bidding price. I'd curious to see what others have to say too. :shrugs:
