This bag looks good to me, but it would help to see closeups of the hardware and the riri on the zipperhead. I'm pretty sure this color combination exists, however, I don't know the official name. Looks like she has a reserve, so this bag won't sell unless bidding hits it.

Thanks thithi, I asked her to email close up pictures of the hardware as well as the riri on the zipperhead. Anything else you can suggest to look out for on this bag? I really appreciate all the help I can get.

I'd want to see the nameplate as well. The zipperpull and the buckle looks good to me, the only thing I noticed that was fishy is that this is the 2nd time this bag's been listed by her. I don't know whether the first buyer pulled out or what. She's had two other venetias in the past month for sale, 1 black and 1 olive, and those looked real to me. I would ask her what happen to the first transaction and see what she has to say.

I noticed on her completed auctions that she just sold the same bag with the same pictures earlier this month. I guess that this is a good sign of fakes? What do you think?

I was posting at the same time and din't see that you noticed the same thing about the previous bag being sold recently like I just did. I will email her again and ask for pictures of the nameplate and to hopefully explain the duplicate auction of the same bag. Thanks for your suggestions.

^I don't think it necessarily means it was a fake bag, but it would be good to know why the auction fell through. You could also msg the buyer and get her side of the story too. Good luck!

BTW, MJ is a good upgrade from Coach... the essence of style is similar, but the quality is so much more yummier. I think you'll be very happy after your first MJ purchase.

Hi again thithi...I don't mean to be a bother asking you a lot of questions but you are the only member that has responded so I hope you don't mind.

The seller emailed me many close-up pictures of the bag and I would like to show them to you but I don't know how. The pictures are extremely close-up and huge. Could you tell me how to get them to you so you could view them and let me know what you think? I would be happy to email them to you, of course with your permission, if you would trust me with that information. The seller informed me that the reserve is $399 which is excellent and that it was indeed the same purse recently sold but the buyer changed her mind and wanted the brown and she didn't want the buyer to feel 'stuck' with something she would not be happy with. Seller also claims she does not sell MJ regularly, just happened to receive 2 (brown and ivory) as a gift. Not sure about that but the pictures are extremely detailed so it appears she has nothing to hide.

Please advise me how to supply the pictures so you may view them.

HOH, you are too sweet! I'm psyched you're looking into the venetia--I think you'll love it. So I'm totally new to this, but I am getting a little better at spotting the fakes. (Like, the font on those black venetias questioned recently gave me hives and three weeks ago I wouldn't have known better!)

Anyway, FWIW, I've compared mine to the pics on her ebay listing. I think my color is from Fall04 and I'm not sure if the style gets updated at all, so the other ladies will have to pitch in on whether what I'm saying even matters, but here's what I noticed:

In that closeup of the handles and buckles, see that leather piping at the top left? It should continue all the way around, yet I noticed that in the closeup of the zipper pull, the stitching doesn't continue to the piping (or maybe it's a bad pic?); in fact, it's unclear that the piping is there at all. When you look at mine from the side, the zipper hits at the point where the V-shaped piece of leather is, and then there are about three stitches on either side of the V until both sides hit the piping.

Let us know what happens!

You're right Superfriday...I'm looking at my Venetia right now..the stitching does go all the way to piping..the one pictured on Ebay has 3 stitches missing from each side.

Also, if you look behind the Marc Jacobs made in italy plate @ the flap pocket , do you have the small engraving "fiocchi made in italy" at the snap button?

I'm still figuring to see if mine is real..

Hi superfriday & aitienadog,
I've tried to understand what 3 stitches you are talking about from the picture with the handle and buckle. I've gone back and forth from your close-up of your venetia to the extra pictures she sent to me and I must be :confused1: because I can't quite understand what you mean. Any chance I could email you the email with the pictures she sent to me since I don't know how to post pictures yet and they are extremely large?

Thanks

HOH--
One of the pics I posted shows what I'm talking about perfectly:
http://forum.purseblog.com/marc-jacobs/my-first-mj-54117.html

See how there are two lines of stitching arcross the V-shaped piece of leather? The stitching continues past each edge of the V (on both sides) that lead directly to the leather piping that goes around both sides of the bag (approx three stitches I think). I couldn't tell from the pic if hers does that (or even has that line of piping you can see in my pic) all the way around. See what I mean? If not, feel free to PM me.

^yes, I read that thread about ****** and the whole situation seems really iffy. There are so many fake Venetias knocking around -- I wonder what the ratio of fake MJ classic bags to real ones is? Actually, that's kind of depressing to think about...
Anyway, I have been using my Hudson every day and am absolutely in love. It's big enough for my books and sketchpads, and I can even carry it on my shoulder. I'll post pictures soon :o)

I re-read that thread last night, ****** obviously has sold countless fakes (Chanel, Fendi, Balenciaga, MJ, etc); the screen capture of her telling potential buyers that she would drop-ship & her faked $1500 Birkin (with faked receipt from Hermes Vegas store at Bellagio) could be resold for $3-6K to innocent buyers is so disgusting!! Members are concerned that she might sell some real stuffs now for less & bite them all back soon. She sold fakes within the past 6 months too! OMG!

Some members mentioned that more than 95% of MJ bags are fake on ebay.

Glad that you love your Hudson, looking forward to your pictures. =)

Alert!!!! midcitydesigns is stealing pictures from other sellers. All the items are 1-day listing! I wonder which bag this seller will actually send to the buyer. We need to report this seller to ebay!!!!!
