Hi, I'm resurrecting this thread because the last Luella question remained unanswered.
I am looking for some help identifying this Luella Purse that I got. I love older things! I was at a flea market last weekend and my eye was drawn to this purse. The look, feel, weight, and quality seemed to be there, and it was funky too! I want to give it to my eldest daughter, except that she only likes originals, and I cant even tell her what it is. Ive been searching the web, but cant find anything exactly the same.
After reading on this forum, I thought I could at last identify if it was a real Luella, but I am still unsure. The heart and disc charms have Luella stamped on them, the Tag inside also is stamped Luella, and the Zipper draw is consistent with comments on this site. Even the Brass studs have two Luellas stamped on them, facing opposite directions. The twist lock fastening has a good weight to it, with Luella imprinted on it. The bottom is leather, but with no feet. And I cant find the made in tag. I very carefully went through the lining pulling it inside out, but no luck there.
It measures 4 1/4 inch by 10 5/8 inches on the leather base, it is 6 inches high, and the leather strap is 20 inches long.
It is an older purse that was stored for quite a while. It smells strongly of mothballs. As a result, I got it for a very good price.
Can anybody help?
