Authenticate This Luella

The bag is made in Turkey. At the time I remember questioning the seller about this ( I thought all bags were made in England), but after ringing Luella in London they confirmed that Turkey was one of the places (amongst others) that made the bags.

Dear lovely Luella experts,

I bought this Luella bag on Ebay. Paid for it and received it. The bag I received doesn't have the black fabric tags with made in turkey, it has this funny looking piece of leather (?) that was sewn on the interior lining which said made in Spain. The underside of the zipper head (of the small zippered pocket inside the bag) doesn't have Riri marking. The material of the bag doesn't feel like leather and it doesn't have metal studs at the bottom to proctect the bag. I requested a refund because I told him how the bag should be, he told me that whichever bag I compared with was a fake. Quote

"Thanks for your message. I am sorry to hear that you're not pleased with your bag.

We are not in the business of selling fake items and are confident in the authenticity of this bag as well. The bag was purchased by it's owner at a prominent and reputable high-end department store here in the US and the original owner has guaranteed it's authenticity. If you are not confident in it's authenticity, we will need you to have it authenticated and provide verifiable written proof from the store"

" Thank you for your message. I have never implied that there are Luella Stores. However, Luella bags are sold through reputable retailers, as this one was. Providing pictures of your bag will simply show me that yours is different, but provides no proof. Yours may not be authentic and therefore different than this bag in question. As well, because a self-proclaimed expert on a purse forum decided that it was not authentic does not mean that they have the authority to authenticate as well.
You are welcome to send pictures to us at [email protected], however, I am not expecting that doing so will be of any value as pictures of another bag do not determine the authenticity of this bag.

If you can provide verifiable proof, not heresay or a self-proclaimed expert's opinion, we will be happy to accept a return of the bag.

Thank you
"
I know that no store would provide written verification not even Chanel, the only exception is Mullbery in England! I am very upset since he even suggested that I have FAKE bags!

I will be posting pictures of the bag very soon particularly the tag, the metal hearts, close up pics of the stitching etc so you can confirm it is a Fake! As much as I would like to believe his crappy story about reputable Stores, I am sure the bag is a counterfeit :cry::cry:

^I don't know this style of Luella, I am more familiar with the older ones that were made in Turkey. However, I do know that some of the styles later on were manufactured in different countries and perhaps Spain was one of them. The stitching looks good on this one, so I would tentatively say that I believe it to be authentic, although please wait for other opinions.

Hello Lori,
Thank you for your opinion. I have pics of the bags here so you can look at the details that i think are wrong with this bag

I guess I'll have to defer to other opinions, because I can't see anything that would make me feel that this bag is fake. But like I said, I'm more familiar with the Giseles that are a little older.

Thank you so much lorih. I trust you ladies more than that seller.

I hope it will be deemed authentic in the end. I don't see this bag very often but I do know that this style exists. Looking at the pics on the auction, the bag looks pretty well made just like you said. So i decided to bid ...The thing that doesn't add up when I receive the bag is the tag(incidentally there is no pic of the tag in the auction listing!??) and the underside of the zipper head.
I am hoping someone will give me an opinion on this bag. It is such a fun and youthful looking bag. Hate to think that it is a counterfeit.:girlsigh:

Ladies please HELP and put me out of my misery!!! PRETTY PLEASE :confused1::confused1:

I'm not sure about the first one, it's a style I don't know enough about to comment. But I do get suspicious when people say they got the item as a gift and never used it. For a long time on eBay that's how people dodged authenticity questions -- they would say, "I can't guarantee authenticity because I got it as a gift."

For the 2nd one, the seller needs to post more pics: the zipper pull and also the origin tag.

Thanks for that - I was a little suspicious as well of the first one - I hadn't seen the 'horse-bit' style at the front before.

I did ask the seller of the 2nd bag for pics of the label/tag inside the zipper but she just referred me to what is already posted.

Oh well...I guess I will keep on looking...

Many thanks for your input - greatly appreciated!:smile1:
