Hi everyone, I'm a total amateur and just bought this bag on a whim (http://www.ebay.com/itm/370605167140?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649). It arrived yesterday and I'm pretty sure it's fake (you can kind of see the bad seam and the crooked name plate in the pictures )but wondered if anyone could confirm.
Thanks!!

Hi westnyc~
In my opinion it is a genuine Kooba Chiara. I cannot quite tell the size from the photos to decipher if it is a chiara or claudia. I have had multiples of both styles over the years and to me she looks good. The leather should be somewhat on the thinner side and super smooshy. Hardware looks right to me. As far as the nameplate, I have had plenty of authentic koobas that that have had the plate crooked. I'm just going on my past experience of having owned many koobas. You should definitely follow your gut, and you can of course force a return. Fortunately the eBay market is a buyer market and unquestioned protection. Sucks for sellers, but not for buyers. In any case, good luck with everything!

I received a Kooba Pamela today in black, but having got two genuine Koobas, Im not convinced this is genuine, It looks good and smells divine, however, the feel of the leather is no where near as thick and buttery as my Carla. I have tried to pull apart at the seams, where the inside pocket is, and I can see unfinished leather behind. You cannot do that with my Carla or Jillian. Also the brass plate has lifted slightly, but is still firmly attached. I didnt pay much for it, and the seller did not list it as Genuine/authentic.. so put it down to experience, maybe my daughter will use it. Sorry If I was wrong on my last post about your bag.. Not familiar with the QVC range.. regards xx

Henners can you post pics? I wouldn't worry much about it. Honestly their craftsmanship and quality has gone down quite a lot since the glory days of sienna, ada, jillian, etc. I've had my hands on a few pamelas at Neiman's and Nordies and the leather is definitely thinner, much like chiara or claudia. If it looks good and smells good it probably is good :smile1:

I just wanted to be clear that I was giving this a thumbs up. It was a bag that Kooba made for QVC. I did not mean to say it was a "Kooba style" Sorry for the confusion! Just wanted to clarify.

Thanks again! Weren't the QVC ones not leather? According to my shoe man it actually is leather but it is definitely not as soft and smushy as my real Kooba. Also, here's a picture of the zippers--the top is genuine, the second is from the Chiara. They are noticeably different, especially those o's.

Hi Lucybelle, I have taken some pics, but for some reason cannot load them on to my lap top. I have since been in touch with the vendor, and she assures me that it is genuine, and has offered to take it back. I am growing to like it, the leather is so soft and squishy, it is just a niggle I have. The leather on my Carla is like my sofa.. thick but soft, the Pamela is thin almost like Fabric, but smells lovely.. Everyone comments on the Carla, I have found nothing around that matches the quality at all. I will keep this Pamela tho, and when I sort my lap top out will post fotos. Thanks xx

Can anyone tell me if kooba ever had a fabric interior label other than the metal one. Also did they ever make a bag with an orange print with gold. I can add pictures if you like thank you!

It is old and beat up the leather is very thick and heavy.

clu0984,

I suggest you contact the Kooba company and find out if they have reproduced the "Lucy". The one in your pictures is definitely not an original, which came out around 2006. I saw a "Paige" on Bluefly with the same interior lining and zipper pull as the one in your pictures and they claimed that it was authentic. Although I don't know if it was or wasn't, I do know that it wasn't from 2006.

Hi all! i just received my kooba anya satchel from bluffly yesterday and am very disappointed :( I have never ordered from them before and I believe this is a fake bag. It has a horrible vinyl smell but looks like soft leather, the smell is over powering. I compared it to koobas online and it has a few small differences. I called bluefly yesterday and they assured me they would never sell a fake. I can't return it because I cut the tags off. I paid 250 for it on sale! so upset and can't get rid of this smell. Sorry if this is posted in the wrong place but I am new and cannot start a new thread. Has anyone heard of Bluefly selling fakes? They told me a manager would be calling me back, no one has yet. The bag smells like bag you would buy from target. ugh!

Kooba I'm thinking of buying from a private seller, is it authentic ??
I took the photos.
What do you think my friends the experts in quality purses.
Look forward to hearing from you !!
Thanks !!
