Hello lovely ladies of PF. I am hoping someone can help me here. I purchased a vintage Tiffany bead bracelet from eBay (my first mistake) and when I received it it was quite evident to me that it's authenticity was questionable.

-It has has 16 beads https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B17G9l88ckqcMnlrRUdSVU1jNjg/edit?usp=sharing

The inner chain that the beads are strung on is NOT a fox-link chain. I have put the small bead bracelet I personally purchased from Tiffany's next to the one I got on eBay: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B17G9l88ckqcYzAyaExZMGZ3VmM/edit?usp=sharing

-The bracelet has an additional jump ring at the end: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B17G9l88ckqcelFtaHhlUjlxcFE/edit?usp=sharing

-The round disk dangle tag that has the "Tiffany and Co" stamped on it does not have the
© (copyright) symbol next to the T.

I have contacted the seller and she told me she bought it from another person and says its real. Here is a snipit from her response to me which raises some serious flags:

Hi there,
Well I called a Tiffany store and I asked general questions. What I was told is that depending on the size sold there would be 16-18 silver balls. In plain fact that certain sizes had the amount of balls to acomodate that length.
I was also told that there never has been a set chain for any of their lines. Over the years it has changed and really all the different chain says is a date line.
I purchased this bracelet as a Tiffany Bracelet and it is halmarked as a Tiffany bracelet. It was purchased by me as preowned it may have been modified by the original owner but I can assure you it is a Tiffany & Co bracelet. It was also pointed out to me that just like every designer they have two models. One sold in high end stores and one model sold in outlet stores.

I can 100% assure you it is what it is named. Any differences may be age, store quality, or past owner modification. All pictures in the listing show exactly what you purchased so there was no deceipt.

She continues to claim its from an outlet store which is so infuriating. I have opened a dispute and am hoping this gets resolved ASAP however some knowledgeable insight into this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you ladies, & I hope you're all having a fantastic day :smile1:

Does that say Italy on it? Does anyone have that bangle? I also saw one (eBay) with Italy in the hallmark. The listing was for sterling silver but the woman said it was gold, RRP $500.

I'm certain hers was fake, not sure about this one but the Italy thing has me wondering.

Blossy - Not sure if you were replying to my post but here's how the bangle is marked (no Italy that I can see):

On the inside:
Copyright mark symbol followed by 1997 Tiffany & Co. 925

On the outside:
925 T&CO 1837

Blossy - Seller is indicating:
According to the kitchen scale here, it weighs 2 1/4 - 2 1/2 oz which is 63-70 grams.
Does this make sense? I'm hoping this is authentic. I really want this item but I'm so scared about getting a fake.

Blossy - I decided to take a pass on it, I'm just not 100% convinced. I've bought second hand Tiffany before and didn't have any doubts but with this one, I just did, so no point in parting with $ if the doubt is there.

Blossy - The scale was off and it's actually 34 grams. I have a picture of it on the scale with the measurement. This seller doesn't seem like they are lying. They've been very upfront with their answers. Do you guys think I should go for it?

I am VERY new to this stuff and you all seem like you know your ****, so maybe you can help.

I got a ring through a family friend dealer who is a "miracle worker" Ive been told. A very old woman who has been doing this her whole life. I told her about what I was looking for - sent her this.

she took a while and had something done, mailed it to me and insurance appraisal value was set at $12,000, and her total bill? $599! wtf! how is it that cheap? I am told an appraisal can be as much as double the actual retail price, but not THAT much cheaper...

it is 1.08 carats round old european cut H SI1, no FLOUR, all the other stuff rated GOOD. mounted on 18k white gold. Looks pretty similar to that link.

I just am dumbfounded. I have way more than that saved up and was ready to drop at least $5k! (Even though I only have $2k saved up, mom and grandma REPEATEDLY keep telling me to do the deed and they will loan me the rest).

What do you make of all this? Need your help!

edit: I should mention it is certified by jewelry appraisers of america, inc. a GIA gemeologist.

thanks
