I don't know Kenneth Jay Lane, either but I checked out the first auction.. the fact that the seller has 10 available for less than (what appears to be) half of retail is suspicious to me. :confused1:

Sometimes a seller will catch these on clearance at one of the dept. stores and grab a bunch for resale, so it's not as hinky as it may seem for these in the same way it is if you see a seller with 10 of the same "brand new" Tiffany item (Tiffany doesn't go on sale). So best to look at seller's overall rating, at thier completed listings, and feedback from thier buyers (esp. the ones that have a great deal of feedback and have been ebayers for a long time). I often even look at what those buyers have bought from other sellers, to see if they are collectors and that gives an indication that they know thier stuff and would be quick to report recieving a fake. Checking out the seller in that manner is not foolproof, but it does tilt the odds of recieving the real deal in your favor.

True, except that these bracelets still seem to be available on regularly priced retail websites and the seller has them in a large quantity for just under half of retail. Plus they've only got 52 fb.. it's all positive, though. However 18 of them are for the same bracelet.. so 28 of the same bracelet still seems fishy to me.:shrugs:

It would help if you could post the auction link, but if it is supposed to be new, def.

I don't remember ever seeing this bracelet, and can't find it in any of my catalogs, old or new, and Tiffany only puts these round tags on a very few of thier items anymore, and def. doesn't use any of that packaging now either, although very similar packaging for vintage items. So I'm going with no good.

Thanks a lot, this isn't an ebay listing, it's from another Australian forum.

I remember seeing that style online around june/july 08, though i can't remember if it was in gold or silver. Also is it possible that Australian packaging is different?

Thank u

I do know at least the butterfly and dragonfly were available as charms and keyrings by themselves. And Tiffany has discontinued quite a few items since last year. Tiffany does sometimes offer different items in different markets (Japan, for example), and this may have been a style that was not offered for the US market. That being said, no, Australian packaging should not be different for an item that is supposedly new (or recent years). If this is not vintage (and I feel strongly that it is not, and is still wrong if it was)- That round tag should not be there, the care card is wrong, the pouch is wrong, and the box is wrong for an item that is supposed to be more recent. While Tiffany may occasionally offer items in one market that they don't in another, the quality, craftsmanship, and esp. packaging, will be the same everywhere. Packaging is part of thier branding, and their recognition power, and it is the same the world over. Here is the shape the butterfly should have, and these have not changed for many years (and are the same on AU Tiffany)-
