This is probably the fake I bought a few weeks ago. i'm sorry. its the same seller. Can I ask you, if you look at the eye patch on the one you have, and then look at the photo she posted, is the eye patch the same? The eye patch on the wallet shouldn't be completely opaque. how about the shading of the skull? Also, the outline should look airbrushed and not like a thick line. These don't look like the same pics of the wallet I received, so thats why I ask. She's changed her auction and i'm wondering if she stole the pics maybe.

I was told these are the things to look for. Also, this seller swore to me she bought it at Saks off 5th. but then last week she had an auction up with a qty of 3 available. These wallets were rare so tats kind of odd too.

hth!

I sent this email to them:

Not to insult you or anything, but I have reason to believe the wallet you sent me is a fraud. I already have an authentic bag, an the wallet is nowhere near the quality of it.

I will be getting it authenticated on Monday before I give it to my girlfriend for christmas.

If I find out it is NOT an authentic Isabella Fiore wallet, there are only 2 choices.

I get a FULL refund within 2-3 days, and return the wallet to you... or
I file a dispute with ebay and paypal and file negative feedback against you.

If it's not authentic, come clean now or I might push for extra money from you for time I need to spend to authenticate it, and STILL file negative feedback and compaints to ebay.

If it's authentic, you have no worries, but I doubt it after recieving it and reading up on other people who have gotten your items.

Let me know by tomorrow what your choice is.

Thank you,

I hate to sound so snarky, but I'm dying to know what she responds with. She told me that she took it back to Saks off 5th and they sent it back to IF to be authenticated for her. She never contacted me again but then I looked through her old auctions back 30 days and there were red flags there (she sells the same 5 bags over and over). Also i don't like that she keeps her auctions private (and there are so many people saying "great wallet"). PLUS she also recently sold another buried treasure bag and when I had gone through her old auctions,..... btw, i wish I could go back farther than 30 days...., she had sold a buried treasure Britta and Audra. I mean, these items are no longer in production so how many does she friggin have ya know?

Also, if you go to Ioffer.com and type in Fiore buried Treasure, the wallet you and I bought comes up all over te place. It's knocked off a lot  Good luck and if you want to PM me, feel free.

Since there's already been complaints about this seller, I'd just go ahead and file a complaint with eBay/Paypal and get the ball rolling already. No reason to wait for the seller to get back to you.

Her reply:

Hi all items I sell are authentic if you are not happy with the wallet please send it back to me and I will refund you. That wallet came from off Saks. I don't know what you mean by reaching out to others that have purchased from me ,but I havens had any issues. I will be going out of town tomorrow till Friday but will try to check mail. If you to go get it authenticated and they say it is not authentic please get the name of the person so I can confirm and let off saks know as well

Happy holidays

I still don't trust this seller. If you want to make sure you cover yourself, the best way to do so is file a claim. Wait for eBay/PP to tell you what to do -- they may require you to send the item to them instead. Don't send it back to the seller first.

I'm an engineer by trade, so I did some research.

All Isabella Fiore products use brass hardware.
Brass is a non-ferrous metal. An alloy of zinc.
It's non-magnetic.

Guess what happened when I touched a magnet to the hardware on the wallet.
Stuck.

And when I tried on the authentic matching bag I already own?
Didn't stick.

The seller has been contacted. I haven't contacted ebay yet for my own reasons. =)

Hope this helps people in the future.

Oh, there were issues lol. I opened a paypal dispute over the wallet. I sent the wallet back right away and before refunding me she asked me to close the dispute. I was too nervous to do that. When she refunded me, the dispute closed itself.

Incidentally, I left her positive feedback the day I rec'd the wallet and did not find out it was fake until a few days later. I feel terrible that my feedback might be misleading other buyers  I suppose she could be misinformed but in going back over her emails, i really think she knows its fake

Oh and just out of curiosity does the wallet smell strongly of spearmint, like wrigleys gum sort of?

I would be interested to know how all this turned out... But I did want to add one thing. I bought the Me Hearty bag, as well as the Buried Treasure bag and wallet at Corsa Collections in the Forum Shops at Caesar's Palace, so the ones I own are absolutely authentic. A magnet doesn't stick to the bag or wallet brass studs, nor does it stick to the chains on either of my bags. However, it does stick to the chain on the wallet.

I would say I would not trust this seller simply because she has her auctions set to private, as someone who has sold on ebay before the only reason to have a private listing is in instances where you might be selling adult type items, items that are going to fetch a really high price cars etc that you wouldnt want other sellers making offers to your bidders or as I think is the case here so that your other bidders cant see what you have sold, that way they dont get suspicoius and question how it is that you have gotten 5 of the exact same high end items to sell.

This is simply not true. I have sold a few handbags on ebay, and have always made the bidder/buyer id private. I do this as a courtesy to my buyers, nothing more. If they want to put what they purchased in the comment section of the feedback area, they can add that information themselves. :smile1:

There have been many threads about Private listings and many very good reasons why some seller choose to list their auctions that way. Bottom line, do your research, know the product, use this FORUM for help in authenticating.
Let us know how it all works out!

I have to say that unless I'm looking at feedback of a seller who sells "adult" products, I am skeptical of private feedback. When I read negative feedback, I want to see what the buyer purchased. If I'm buying a handbag, I don't care about negative feedback from someone who bought a t-shirt and received the wrong size. But I DO want to know if the seller has been accused of selling fake bags.

I KNOW that there are probably a million good reasons for keeping feedback private, but I am always a little bit skeptical.
