Hi, I purchased this IF handbag from ebay and don't think it's authentic. Can anyone provide input? THANKS in advance!

Stacey

I had purchased a 'Buried Treasure' wallet from an Ebay seller a few months back and it was definitely not authentic. I have the Buried Treasure bag that I purchased from Neiman Marcus and the print on the wallet was not nearly as clear as the authentic one. If you could take some good pics of the actual print of the bag, I think I'd be able to tell if it's authentic or not. :)

FYI, I purchased mine from a seller named 'luxurygal' or something like that. She swore it was authentic and had a Saks Off 5th receipt to prove where she'd purchased it, but it was a fake for sure.

Okay, here are some better pictures. Hope these help. Thanks again!

Stacey

From what I can see, it doesn't look authentic. :( There should be more of a graduation in color from the roses background into the leather and it looks like a transfer. Also, if you look at the name, it looks blurry and is a smaller print. I could be wrong though. I hate to give you bad news!!! :s I will take pics of my Buried Treasure in the morning and we can compare okay???

Also, what is the weight of the bag? It should be kinda heavy.

Yes, I would love to see some pics of yours to compare mine too. The bag is fairly heavy, but not quite as heavy as my other IF bags. Also, the quality (i.e. feel) of the leather is notably poor. It kinda feels like rawhide. The workmanship is also kinda shoddy- some of the stitches are crooked as is one of the name plates, and the material used for the lining feels like canvas. Thanks,

Stacey

Sorry this took so long! I tried to take as detailed a photo as my crappy camera could! This is mine, purchased from Neiman's. ;)

crap, well you answered my question. Mine has brown paint (like a thick outline) around the print, and "fiore" is kind of blurry. Also, the roses aren't shaded like that. ugh, I'm sure everyone knows by now, except me :push:, watch out for the Isabella Fiore fakes on ebay.....

*sigh* I'm sorry. :crybaby: I hate to be the bearer of bad news like that. But like I said, don't feel bad! I got my bag from NM but missed out on the wallet and thought 'oh hey, there's a few on ebay', never knowing that her stuff was already being faked. I was able to send mine back to the seller, but sheesh, what a bummer.

Yeah, mine has the "thick-paint" look too, and in no way fades into the background. The ebay seller does not want to refund my money b/c I left her positive feedback before I was informed it looked like a fake and b/c it was used 3x. She's claiming replica IF bags sell for at least $100 and therefore thinks a partial refund is only fair. I have a hard time believing anyone would pay more than $25 for the bag I have. I don't even think it's real leather. Does anyone know how much fake IF bags sell for or how I can find this info to send to her? Thanks!

I already left my feedback also, and the seller did NOT leave me mine which means I'll probably get a neg  . Did you pay via Paypal? They have a dispute specifically for fake items. Thats what I'm doing but mostly because I'm afraid I'll send it back and she won't refund me.

If you do a google search for Isabella Fiore buried treausre fakes, you'll get a few websites where you can "email to inquire" about prices. They have pics too.

So Stacey, is the seller basically admitting that they know the IF bag is a replica???!! Make sure you save all the email correspondence!!! Bottom line is that she sold you a fake bag and positive feedback or not, she needs to refund your $$$ asap.

No, she's denying that it is a fake. She claimed she bought it as an authentic IF purse, but when I asked where she purchased it from, she said it was none of my business. She is offering to refund half of my money. Here is her latest response to our ebay dispute. I paid via paypal but didn't find out the bag was a fake until 45 days after I had it, primarily b/c I was out of the country and didn't get a chance to use it until i returned. So, do I take the $150 and chalk the experience up to a lesson learned or continue to contest this? Here is her latest response to me:

As I have stated earlier Im willing to work with you. I have asked you several times what would be
comfortable for you. Best I can do for you is refund you $150.00, you can keep the purse, if you do
not want the purse, then I would have to come up with another solution, since the purse is used.If
you send back the purse, I suggest sending it with delivery signed confirmation, to protect us both.I
travel alot, so if you decide send asap, since youve had purse since Oct.No pics of purse needed.

Can you elevate your paypal dispute? It sounds like she isn't working with you. She sent you a fake when you purchased an authentic. thats really the end of the story. Can you contact your bank?

My seller keeps saying her is authentic and making snide comments in her emails. Like she wants to fight (lol!) I'm sending the wallet back tomorrow with sig. conf. and not responding to any more emails. :yucky:

Good luck to you!
