Thanks for the nudge, SDSC. Voila! It's mine!
I'm a great silk washer, and swear by cold water and Shout color catchers, though I'm a little nervous about the older dyes. My reasoning would be to wash first for grime (and plump hems) then dry clean later for what's left. Would you dry clean first on an old scarf?
It sounds like you will know what to do when you receive it! Congratulations on a good get.

Ladies, I'd appreciate some advice here.

I saw this listing and liked the colorway... this design in black was my first Hermes scarf, so I know it well.

I Google-imaged "Hermes scarf au fil de soie" to learn more and I was kind of shocked to discover this link:
http://www.hermesbagsknockoff.com/product/new-Knockoff-hermes-silk-scarf-au-fil-de-la-soie.html

Oops. I've bought from this seller before and have been pleased. Is the "Knockoff" site real? Obviously I won't bid on the scarf if it's not authentic, but I'm inclined to let the seller know about it... or should it just be reported to eBay? I feel bad about this whole thing, but I hate to just ignore it. What to do?

I saw the scarf I received today on this site too, just a different color.now I am more worried. http://www.hermesbagsknockoff.com/p...lk-scarf-varangues-by-rybaltschenko-mint.html

Gee, the "Knockoff" site has so many scarves... and when you click on one, the watermark says "FORWEST authentic Hermes designer www.forwest.com". The forwest website has lots of scarves, all labeled "Hermes."
Could they be showing pictures of genuine Hermes scarves and shipping something else? They're advertising a "140 cm cashmere/silk scarf" for $125 and a "T shirt Guepards" for $95, for heaven's sake!
Have the Knockoff/Forwest people stolen pictures of authentic scarves from reputable dealers? They're not on eBay, so there doesn't seem to be a "shut down" mechanism for dishonest advertising.

If that's the case, I'm glad I didn't report the seller I mentioned 3 posts above to eBay!

I'm just going to leave this here...

An Au Fil de la Soie scarf like the one I was looking for is also listed on the Malleries site:
http://www.malleries.com/new-authentic-hermes-silk-scarf-au-fil-de-la-soie-i-58620-s-2599.html

And the Knockoff site shows the exact same scarf and closeup photos (with the Forwest watermark added):
http://www.hermesbagsknockoff.com/product/new-Knockoff-hermes-silk-scarf-au-fil-de-la-soie.html

It appears that Knockoff/Forwest are being careful to avoid eBay, but are lifting photos from other sites and using them on their own.
Pretty sleazy.

Maybe you ladies know what to do at this point, but I'm out of my depth on this one, so I'll sign out.

FYI, I've moved my comments about the Au Fil de la Soie scarf and the Knockoff/FORWEST sites over to the "Hall of Shame" thread.

The scarf from seller trendyground is authentic.

When you buy from forwest or knock-off sites, you will get counterfeits.

Dear Ladies, i am panic after i received this scarf and did not see accent mark on the second e In the copyright. Please help authentic this scarf. Thanks a lot for the help.

The Varangues is authentic. No need to panic. Scarves do exist where the accent is missing on the copyright or is almost invisible. Lovely design!
