Are you able to authenticate something found at the thrift store? I came across this scarf today and didn't purchase as I think based off the tag it is fake. Just looking to either confirm or not since I can go back tomorrow and buy it if it is authentic after all.

For some reason the app only allows one picture to post! Here is the tag I am referring to. I believe it should only have French and English since it was made in France correct? Not sure why seta is on the tag too?

Hi ladies: I'd appreciate your expertise on this scarf.

Item: RARE Auth Hermes Paris "BELLE CHASSE" Vintage Silk Scarf HENRI DE LINARES 90cm
Listing number: 330992402305
Seller: exquisiteartichoke
Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-Auth-H...ilk-Scarf-HENRI-DE-LINARES-90cm-/330992402305

Comments: I've recently become fascinated with the "sleeping birds" on Belle Chasse. I've looked at images of Belle Chasse scarves online and most of them (both silk twill and cashmere/silk) seem to have a colored border. This one has only a colored hem. Have there been reissues of this pattern? Do you think this one is genuine?

This is authentic. There have been reissues. I think I like it best with the contrasting him!

Thanks, sdsurfchick!
There's another older scarf that has some stains.

Item: Hermes Scarf Signed Pheasant Design
Listing: 151103458330
Seller: hotelbo2012

I think this is genuine, but I'm concerned about the condition. Would you dare wash a scarf this old?
Can't tell if those are stains or yellowing from age. Yes, I will wash anything, but I also have very a very good dry cleaner who I will use for what I call "restoring." This is a steal, if you really want this design.

Thanks for the nudge, SDSC. Voila! It's mine!
I'm a great silk washer, and swear by cold water and Shout color catchers, though I'm a little nervous about the older dyes. My reasoning would be to wash first for grime (and plump hems) then dry clean later for what's left. Would you dry clean first on an old scarf?
