Greetings:

I'm new to the site and the forums, and I need some assistance authenticating a Hermes scarf. I run a local resale business and online eBay resale clothing store in Massachusetts called “North Shore Fashion Resale”. I am a valued eBay seller with a spotless sales record for over 15 years. Here is a link to my eBay store below:

https://www.ebay.com/usr/northshorefashionresale

I have recently been given a Hermes scarf by an Aunt that belonged to another family member who sadly has recently passed. My aunt is considering selling the scarf at resale or consignment, and she asked me to try to find out information about the scarf.

Below is the information I know about the scarf:

TYPE: HERMES FRANCE

SIZE: 90CM X 90CM (35” X 35”)

AUTHOR: LAURENCE BOURTHOUMIEUX (From other online resources)

PATTERN: PARURES DES SABLES

COLOR SCHEME: BROWN & GOLD

MATERIAL: SILK

HERMES BOX: NO BOX, PACKAGING, OR DOCUMENTATION AVAILABLE

In trying to authenticate the scarf, I need the following information:

AUTHENTIC: (Genuine? Yes or No)

AGE OF SCARF (Vintage Or Not? – Other Online Resources Say 1988)

RESALE VALUE: $ (Resale or Consignment Value)

I'd appreciate it if anybody could take a look at the attached photos and give me an idea. I am new to Hermes, and while I recognize that it is a very high quality product, I have no experience in valuing Hermes.

And if for some reason I am posting in the wrong area of the site, please accept my apology as I am brand new to the site, and this was the only place that I could find to post my reply and questions. If need be please direct me to the appropriate place. Thank You.

I look forward to being a member on the site and using it as a valued resource.

Dear JS, thank you for being so polite. I am sorry to tell you that we do not help resellers value their items, or even authenticate them. This thread was created for wearers/collectors of scarves who are active members here. That said if I didn't already have another coloration of your scarf I would not hesitate to buy the one you have shown here.

Wow, I've never seen that coloration. Gorgeous. This looks authentic to me. BTW, there are quite a few Japanese eBay sellers who are trustworthy, so I am glad you asked for authentication.

Comments:
I'm considering purchasing this for a dear friend who is a barrister - the design reminds me of her wig & the colours are so perfectly her. However, I'm wary of Asian re-sellers & replicas....

Thank you :) I thought the colours were stunning!! I have heard there are a few good Japanese re-sellers so I was hoping to stumble across one. I thought this looked ok compared to pictures of the design but I'm still very very knew so wanted a proper opinion - thank you :D
