Technically you should be asking on the scar reference thread ... but I will answer you here because of my abundant jolly holiday spirit ....
Dunno looks like an ascot though ...
But ascots from the 1980s were tapered in the middle with sewn gathers , this one looks to be tapered because of the way the fabric was cut narrowly in the middle

Many thanks. I will try over there.

I've seen a few vintage ascots and I'm sort of with you but, as you say, the cut is wrong. And the only ascots I seem to see are definitely vintage and this pattern seems to have been introduced in 2006. Maybe it's something like a uniform ascot, like flight attendants sometimes wear. When you have oil money, any number of things can be commissioned. :D

I am not saying the cut is wrong rather the cut is not that of early ascots

A couple of good examples - a classic 1980s ascot - the sewn gathers are seen in photo 2

The ascot is longer than a bow tie. A bow tie - this one just happens to have the big butterfly shape

Other bowtie shapes

Your photos have no dimensions - I was thinking the box was the size of a man's tie ie long, but maybe it is just gavroche length, which would make it a bow tie - like item

The Moghols is authentic. Yes, try to remove the stain near the logo bottom center

But, if you intend wearing in a bias fold, the good news is that spots at 3 o clock, 6 o clock, and 9 o clock disappear in the folds

Hello ladies!

I have been reading with pleasure your H stories, and now could use some help with an item I just purchased off of edevil.

Item: HERMES carré en soie 90x90 Voyage en étoffes
Listing number:
Seller: lmw041
Link: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/301429423047?_trksid=p2060778.m2748.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

I checked on piwigo and the scarf pictured there has a much colder cast to it. Is it correct that the brun foncé stripe is not right at the hem, but slighly displaced towards the center of the carré?

Merci :doggie:
