Without the above information and current for sale status there will be no authentication

Could you please cast a trained eye on this dip dye? I don't know if dip dyes are often faked.

Item: Hermes Surteint Dip Dye Silk Scarf
Listing number: 191439965534
Seller: nassa.eliza
Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/191439965534?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2648&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
Comments: scarf is 90cm, seller says

It is authentic

Safe to say that everything has been faked including 2014aw scarf collection - yes , already

I note that this seller has never sold anything at all. I know that the authenticate-this-bag thread would always recommend avoiding sellers with little or no history selling H, let alone a seller with no history selling anything. Is it different with scarves?

If there isn't the same caution about scarf sellers with no history, is it different only because a scarf doesn't cost as much, so if you end up with a fake, you are losing only the cost of a scarf instead of losing the cost of a Birkin?

For myself , I prefer not to say anything on sellers because that is so difficult a subject

I prefer to stay out of the seller evaluation topic

Everyone has different criteria , I leave it to you to research the seller , talk with them , trade off your desire to save money at eBay versus your desire for a flawless transaction . New sellers are more awkward , ship slower , does it matter to you ?

Think about condition , how important is that versus cost ? Experienced sellers are better at telling you about that

Yes it is different for bags and silk , but , I try not to make your mind up for you , some people are OK with taking a chance, others prefer sure things and buy at the boutiques

On the subject of buying from seller with zero feedback ... Did some work on the topic

-----
ZERO FEEDBACK

There was a recent authentication request of this type on the bag thread, where the rules clearly state there will be no recommendation for zero feedback. A recommendation is a bit different from an authentication.

The official rules for this thread do not talk about zero feedback cases.

For the bag auction in question, the seller had feedback, but all of it was as a buyer, not a seller, it took a bit more digging to notice that ....

For myself, I dont recommend, I authenticate, I concentrate on digging through the scarf info, rather than the seller history, I leave that extra work to you. But, have you ever bought something at a BN brick and mortar store, maybe after schmoozing with the owner ?

But, yeah, more good feedback is better, generally speaking.
----

I also leave the question of CONDITION to you unless I notice some GLARING error in the listing ex: the description says blue, the photos are red.

It would be a HUGE amount more work to call out every run, wrinkle, spot for you.

Some sellers tend to sell used real scarves. Others sell new sale scarves. Some people sell very rare designs with dye runs. It is up to you to decide whether these are right for you or whether you require a pristine scarf.

I am interested in this scarf, if authentic. But how can the seller claim that thin little box is the original?

description: Authentic HERMES Silk 100% Scarf Carre 1993 "CHOCS EN PLUMES" BLUE 35",90cm
item: 151512568580
seller: zeuspa
link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/151512568580?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2648&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

Thank you!

The chocs en plumes is authentic
No clue how it got mated with what appears to be a gavroche box ??? But cannot tell box size from pix

I have not so much an authentication question, more like a "what is it?" question. I have 3 daughters and a wife and am picking up holiday presents on the cheap. I came across this item in the Tout en Carre theme from a local seller who claimed it was a twilly. It appears to be genuine but it's not a twilly. Her back story is that she worked for a certain royal family in the middle east and one part of her job, for a few days, was to model uniforms. For what, I don't know. But this came from that "engagement."

Does anyone have any idea of what it is? Some sort of ascot/necktie thing? I'm stumped. It's approx. 33" long and 4" at the widest parts at the ends.

Thanks in advance!

Technically you should be asking on the scar reference thread ... but I will answer you here because of my abundant jolly holiday spirit ....
Dunno looks like an ascot though ...
But ascots from the 1980s were tapered in the middle with sewn gathers , this one looks to be tapered because of the way the fabric was cut narrowly in the middle

This thread is for discussion on authenticity of Hermes scarves and Ready-To-Wear, continued from here.

Please follow these rules:

  • Before you submit a request for authentication, please search this thread to make sure that the item has not previously been authenticated. This is not a thread to ask general questions about Hermes, please refer to our reference section for such information. Finally, do not submit requests for something that is obviously a fake, e.g. the item says it is a replica, or a $200 Birkin.

  • It is the preference of the authenticators on this thread not to give authentication to members who buy and resell scarves as an ongoing practice. It is also the preference of the authenticators to comment on current, not closed, auctions and sales, and to give authentication to members who post in a range of threads, not just requesting free authentication for designer items. If your request is not answered here, for whatever reasons, professional authentication services are available outside of PF.

  • This is a free service, but it is imperative that you help our authenticators by using the following format:

  • Authenticators are not required to answer every request, some may not be answered for various reaons, and it is their right to ignore a request that is not in the proper format.

  • Authenticators may also request additional pictures and/or information in order to assist with authentication. Please remember, it is always useful to have several close up pictures when submitting an item for authentication.

  • For scarves, please provide pictures of the hem, tag if possible, copyright, and close up to show the weave. Hermes stamp on every item.

  • Please do not intervene to confront a troll or rudeness on the boards, just use the REPORT function to alert the mods, and let them handle it from there. In the meantime, just ignore the poster until a mod can intervene.
