I'm wondering if an appending to protocol here might be in order...
Once an authenticator has said there are problems with authenticity, UNLESS she states: please wait for other authenticators to chime in in the reply, doesn't it kind of diminish 'things' for additional well-meaning folk to post extra reasons to pass on the bag?
I hope I'm not overstepping bounds by making this recommendation, but I notice some prospective buyers needlessly seek as much info as they can on why NOT to buy a questionable bag and I don't think we need to nurture that.
Besides the fact that, remember we prefer not to provide info to prospective scammers?

I am thinking that it might be that people will see the original post and go ahead and give their opinion and not see the prior opinions. Seems like it would be a burden to have to scan every post to make sure the item wasn't already commented on. Personally, I don't see that it is a big deal if two or more comment on a bag. Just my .02.

I think what LailaT is getting at is slightly different. It's not uncommon for more than one person to give an opinion. I think what she was saying is that some posters are not willing to take no for an answer unless several people have chimed in and they repeatedly request more opinions.

exactly my thinking, yes
so i was just figuring, why feed into that?
would it be cleaner - if one were truly moved to post another reply - to simply state for example, "mistikat stated that this did not appear to be authentic in post #xxxx"?

Mistikat, thank you sooooo much for the feedback. But what made you suspicious? what was the giveaway? Grateful if you could share with us? Btw, the item has been removed from eBay, not by my instigation because I have been away, did any of you ladies have anything to do with it? What happened??

We do noit share details on this thread, as the thread is a popular place among those who would like to make better fakes. If it had been removed by eBay there would no longer be any way to take a close look and give comments anyway.

I actually am able to see the black birkin by this seller, and I believe your link is bad. The auction was completed on July 11 for over $8,000.00. Were you the inning bidder on that day?

I do not believe the bag is good. The seller has wretched luxury selling history...some logitech computer things and one design item. Never a heartening combination.

Bababebi, S'mom and gracekelly Thanks for your feedback and thoughts about the fake vintage Kelly bag. I had a gut feeling that the story and pics didn't make sense. Thanks for confirming it. I'm still a newbie with H bags. Definitely not bidding for this one.

I still think that if Perlerare could see it, she might give us some interesting info. But as I said before, about it rather than to buy it.
