Please help me authenticate this Hermes Birkin:

Reciept follows along, I asked for a picture and she sent me this one:

Not good. The picture is indicative of a fake.

Hi all,

Item: 100% AUTH HERMES KELLY BAG VINTAGE BLACK 32cm
Listing number: 1404263150
Seller: france69
Link: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/100-AUTH-HERM...&po=LVI&ps=63&clkid=7129762535032230379#payId
Comments: Could someone please have a look at this and tell me if it is authentic? The shape in the first pic seems to look more square like than other Kelly bags. Also, the seller is based in US but bag will be shipped from France. The listing mentions that it is a family item. Therefore, the seller does not seem to have sold handbags. Other items sold were violins.

Thank you

Bump Thanks in advance!

Bump Thanks in advance!

This is not a Kelly for starters, examine the pictures and you will see that. It could possibly be a precursor of a Kelly, which would date it to to before Kelly's introduction in 1952. It might be made by Hermes, but I am not an expert in bags of that vintage and I have never seen this particular model.

In any event the bag looks dry and looks to have water blisters on the back side. Judging by the pictures, and the stamping, I doubt very much that it was made in the 1970's. looks much older. Hardware appears to be brass.

I am not in love with this auction and with the price either.

Ok...I am still in search of a JPG but was leaning towards basic black. Love the 35 in Blue Jean but not sure of JPG. Any thoughts from the experts on that issue?

I have searched regarding this specific bag & found nothing. I did find positive feedback relating to the seller. I believe she has her own website off ebay as well.

The receipt may very well be authentic, the bag is not. You will NEVER find an authentic bag at that price. Too good to be true. The site is also kind of like a Norweigan Craigs list.

think i need a crash course on the lingo. Sorry to OT, but what's a craigslist? (or who's craig?).

One glance at the picture of the bag was all it took! LOL! What a nasty fake!

LOL and I'm peering at the bag like an old lady while you young pros are fast as lighting. :D

Bump Thanks in advance!

I love vintage Kelly's and have one from the late 50's (the one in the auction looks very little like mine) and while I'm not an expert in vintage Hermes bags, this one bothers me on many different levels. If it was authentic I wouldn't bid on it simply because of the condition AND the fact that while the seller is here in California (not too far from my own hometown) the bag is not. For these two reasons alone I wouldn't touch this auction....

Would love to know what Perlerare thinks this bag might be. Just for fun. Too many other things wrong with the auction to bid on it.

Craigs list is people advertising in a paper in the US I assume. I had never heard of it before coming here either. If you want to sell something you put up an ad in a paper:D
