Hello there.

This is my first time posting on this forum. Hi everyone! You all seem like the experts... so I am going to post a bag that I already purchased here.

eBay: GUCCI New Britt Medium Hobo Brown BUY IT NOW=FREE SHIP (item 150080503411 end time Jan-13-07 18:20:59 PST)

I received it today and it looks real... but does a real Gucci put a clear sticker over the gold hardware that is printed with Gucci? Also, the controllo card number is 0123456789. Is that real?

Thanks so much!

Also, there is a Gucci store by me.. I am planning on taking it in.. but wanted your expert opinions!

I'm definitely no expert, but from the leather inside tag, it looks real to me. Unfortunately all Gucci controllato cards have the exact same numbers in the exact same order. The only way to tell is if the controllato card is solid black and about the size of a credit card, then it is fake for sure. Hope this helps!

hey just wondering if anyone can let me know if this bag is real or not. thanksss xoxo

hey I'm totally new to this.. and don't know much about gucci bags, but I just bought one off ebay and should be in the mail soon. I didn't do any research before I bought it but from the recent research I did, the bag you posted looks fake.

I say because I read on some website, I think it was an ebay forum that gucci uses a particular type of font. on that bag the a is stamped out like this "a" instead of like this "a" or something closer to it. I found out that is what the real a should look like because some lady posted the tag of a real gucci vs fake gucci on another thread and it was really helpful. If I can find it again I'll post it up for you. Also another thing I noticed on a lot of fake gucci bags I saw on ebay today is that the fakes have a longer G than the reals. The real ones have a rounded G, they don't touch, and the space between the G's are reallllllllly clean like it's a dead giveaway that is the whole quality of the bag and the reason they cost so much. It must really take high computer skills to make sure the g's don't touch and stay clean in between with the thread while making the bags.

If you look out for just these TWO things, I'm sure you'll do fine. There's more things to look for I'm sure but these two are dead giveaways for sure. I hope this helps. Good luck!

i never even noticed that "a" thing. but i took a look at the ones i have at home that i know are real and you are right. Thankss soo much for your help or else i would have wasted about 800$ on something that is fakeee. love you lol xoxoxo

if u look super closely, the fake g's are darker in between than the real g's. Also I remember when I used to go the wholesale district in nyc for shopping, the g's there looked exactly the same. My parents had a apparel company before and used to own one of those multiple head embroidery machines, and machines that make designs into the cloth, I forgot what they're called, well everything is computerized and there are programs to make everything appear really neat and not all the programs do exactly the same. Which explains, why would counterfeiters invest so much money into a personalized program for a fake item. Gucci obviously would to maintain quality. And the edges of the tag on the fake aren't as smooth looking as the real.

I recently started shopping on ebay, and already got ripped off on a fake tiffany's necklace, thank God I was able to return it. I just hope I don't get ripped off on the gucci I bought because I didn't ask about a dustbag or controllo card or any of that junk.
