I purchased this Gucci through Reebonz online sale a week ago. And it is just be deliveried to me two days ago. Really need help in authenticating this Gucci bag since it's my mother's day gift to my mum. I am not sure if this is authentic. The followings are the photoes I took today. Many thanks.

The serial number (in case the photo is not clear enough) is top row: 019 (dot) 0352, bottom row: 001998.


I purchased it on 3/9/2013 at a consignment store in Corona Del Mar, an upscale beach city in Southern California. The owner of the boutique/ consignment store claimed that it was real and I paid $200 plus tax for it. After I purchased it, i started to have doubts about the authenticity when I saw another girl post the exact same backpack on another website for $30 as an "inspired gucci backpack". I also had a bad feeling about it when i noticed that the stitching was a little messy, the logos at the seam did not match perfectly, and it uses velcro (i read somewhere that Gucci never uses velcro on their handbags- not sure if it's true). I contacted the owner of the boutique and asked her how she authenticated the backpack (in store and online, the owner claims that all of her pieces are authenticated). She said that she personally knows the previous owner of the backpack and she only has real bags. So she did not actually authenticate the bag, she is just assuming that it's authentic. However, she still claims that the backpack is authentic "for sure".

I would greatly appreciate it if you can tell me from your experience if this is authentic or not. Since the owner claims that all of her pieces are authentic, if i can prove otherwise (or at least get an opinion from someone like you), then i can ask for my money back. Otherwise, she said that i can resell the backpack to her, but i will only get 50% of the selling price since it's on consignment. Please help! Thank you so much!!

nothing to worry about, its authentic. the stitching is a little messy due to the overusage of the bag. and the logos at the seam are not necessarily aligned most of the time. that doesnt mean the bag is fake. just because the logos are not aligned, doesnt deem the bag fake. its more of a "quality issue", NOT an authenticity issue.

hi, WELCOME to tPF! its authentic. the top 6 numbers is the style number and the bottom 6 numbers is the supplier code. so all same style bags have the SAME top 6 numbers. for example, all medium sukeys have the same top 6 numbers. it is also common that two same style bags have the same supplier code (bottom 6 numbers). it just means they were both manufactored from the same supplier/factory.
