So .. I purchased this item on Ebay, i thought the pics looked great. so was the price at $45 Dollars!! So i got alittle excited. But you know.. i just received it and well.. I think its a Fake!! i'm soo disapointed.
Here is the link. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...65335&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT#ht_3196wt_1167
It is really difficult to detect a fake vs authentic FENDI Wallet in most cases. The coding indicates it is from the 2001 season, and other elements of the bag look consistent with authentic FENDI. What makes you think it is not real? :confused1:

If it is for sale on Amazon.com, I don't recommend you purchase from there. They have a number of online retailers they allow to sell on their website & many of these sell replica bags. On your pics, these are Stock photos & not enough detail to authenticate. ;)

Well i feel that the authenticity "card" is not a card. its a sticker placed on the back of the box, and it does not much the inside serial numbers. is this correct? and also. the outside fabric. if you see the Fendi is upside down. when looking at the wallet upright. also no leather trim around the wallet. is that consistent with a 2001 wallet? also, the material of the dustbag seems off. and the weight of the wallet.

You make a very good point about the upside down zucchino fabric, I did not catch that. As I said initially, very hard to authenticate these older wallets, unless they have hologram tag like the newer ones. I wonder if it is intended to be right side up on the other side?

If you aren't happy with it, send it back. I have a 2001 zucca FENDI wallet and it is very well made. I have also seen some zucchino FENDI pieces that were not as nice, but proved authentic...go figure!

On the code on the auth card - the only part that would match your wallet serial # is the Style code (8m0032) - the rest does not match on any FENDI item generally speaking. They sell the wallets sometimes with the auth sticker on the box, but usually it will have an Authenticity card as well. I don't like the format of the sticker, but just can't give opinion on it.

On the leather trim, FENDI has so many different styles & formats, that lack of the trim does not mean it is not real. It may just mean it is a different version they came out with. Many wallets have the 8M0032 style code, just like many spy bags have the 8BR511 code...

A few things that are characteristic of auth FENDI on the wallet: the ID plastic see thru piece is satin & not clear/shiny, the snaps & screws look good, the leather looks consistent, the lining is the correct color & sheen, the fonts on the serial # code are consistent. It still may be a replica, but it is difficult to tell on these...
