1. Thank you, I wasn't so sure myself as the leather feels different than that of my gold and brown spies (much thicker, slightly rubbery) and the bubbling on one part looks too exaggerated. Also, the inside metal plate looks different up close than those of my other spies
2. It's totally missing the "spyglass". If I had the piece, I could still glue it back on, but it didn't even come with the missing piece, and wasn't disclosed. Also, I'm worried that on the front handle, the bottom of the handle is Bare (no bumps across the bottom, only 4 vertical bumps) whereas on my other spies (gold shown as comparison) there are 3 horizontal bumps at the bottom of the 4 vertical bumps (sorry if sounds confusing.... I'm just not sure why the black spy is missing this on its handle compared to other two) This wasn't mentioned either

3. I've contacted the seller several times via ebay messaging, no response, and yesterday filed a Paypal dispute (not escalated to claim yet) and no response either. I'm hoping for a refund, because I feel duped that these things weren't disclosed...

I'm just curious about the missing "tri" bumps on the bottom of the handle and the shoddy glue marks on the wand clasp
I have never seen the missing bumps, but this bag is from the first year & FENDI did much experimentation that year in developing the spy to the level it is at today. It also may have been a defective bag originally, I have no idea. I can only say it is to the best of my personal knowledge a real FENDI bag. The leather issues may be due to improper care over time (it is 4 years old & used). Also, the 2005 leather on some FENDI Spy Bags was different than the leather we see in recent seasons.

If your seller does not respond I would escalate it to a Claim. Don't delay beyond a day or 2. Paypal is pretty good in most cases at upholding SNAD claims IMO, although they are horribly dreadfully slow! :(

Also, don't return the bag until PAYPAL tells you to & how.

To avoid these problems, best to purchase bags from seasoned sellers with a lot of positive fback. ;)

Hi again! Thank you sooooooooo much. I really appreciate all the time and effort you've put in to help me with. Interesting to see how the Fendi Spy bag evolved, although I don't think I'm ready to keep a part of history, lol. The missing bumps on one side of the handle really bother me (the other 3 sides have all bumps) and I'm upset the missing clasp wasn't disclosed. I suppose I learned an important lesson, the seller had thousands of positive feedbacks, and I didn't know to use toolhaus to check for his negatives. Will be much more careful in the future.

I'm so grateful for all the help you've given me, I'm going to proceed with the escalation to claim now, still no contact from seller. Thanks again! :smile1:

Lynn - If only one handle is missing the bumps, sound like they "came out" - I think they are a separate part of the weaving.
Also, if no immediate response from seller, make sure you give the seller negative FBACK right AWAY!!
You would think a seasoned seller would know better! GL! :(

I think this seller misunderstands what we are talking about when we say hologram, because this pic does not show it. Both the hologram and the leather serial strip should be sewn into the lining on either side of the interior of the bag (the hologram will be on one side and the leather serial strip on the other). The hologram is a silver shiny hologram on a black fabric tag with a unique number on the black tag. If the bag does not have these items, it is not authentic. We need to see pics of both.
