:shocked:You may think I am an idiot for even asking :cool: but, I want to be 100% sure. I bought the bag already (unfortunately) and am in the stage with ebay to dispute the listing/item. But I would appreciate expertise on this...... thank you!

By the way, when I got it... the hardware was metal/silver color, NOT gold as described and in the picture. Almost 700 dollars down the drain, hopefully ebay will help me recover. The seller is being so condescending in our communications. I feel so stupid.

I am looking at the following customized peekaboo on EBay. I’ve exchanged pleasantries with the seller, but have not yet asked for additional information. I’ve typed the serial number into Google, but nothing comes up, no Chinese, etc., but also nothing to validate the bag either.
I checked the address on the receipt listed and it appears to be the address of the Fendi boutique in NYC.

I was planning to ask for a picture of the hologram and leather serial number, but I thought I’d share the link first. Perhaps someone can tell me not to waste my time, or maybe the serial numbers on customized bags are different? If there are any other questions I should ask, or photos I should ask for, I’d appreciate that feedback as well.

Thanks for your quick response. It does not have a hologram (I think.. where is that usually?). If it doesnt have a hologram, which I do not think it does, is it automatically fake? When I get home tonight I will send pictures of the tag with the serial number and the front of it too. thanks.

It should have a hologram, it is on a black cloth tag sewn into the lining or pocket of bag. Just look a little harder. The bag looks very promising (authentic likely). :smile1:

We do need pics of hologram tag, etc....but based on the selleria plate inside, it is highly likely that it is real. :smile1:

Hi All - I was wondering if anyone has ever heard about bags purchased at duty free shopping areas. The particular bag was apparently purchased at DFS in HK as a gift set with a matching wallet and does not have the hologram or serial number. The seller said that even though Fendi has been putting serial numbers in bags since the 1980's that this did not hold true for all bags bought as "gift sets" from duty free shopping places. The bag was purchased in 1998. There is a Fendi DFS boutique in HK but just wondering if anyone knows about the fact that some older bags don't have serial numbers/holograms. Thanks for your help!!:smile1:
