it might be the lighting for the picture, but both pictures seem to be that of the denim gaucho in the medium size. i don't particularly recall the denim coming in anything but that one version/colourway (i'm about 70% sure of this, but not dead certain, so perhaps someone could clarify this). :shrugs:

i've seen the denim in person (again the medium one) and my personal opinion is that whilst it's alright, the white gaucho really trumps it. i think have the gaucho in leather really pretty much brings out the design of the bag.

if the denim is anything like the rest of the leather ones, then it should be released in the medium saddle bag, the double saddle, and the tote. i've seen the red leather gaucho in the regular dior saddle bag size (i.e. the small one) but i'm not too sure if they released the denim in such a size.

I agree with Zerodross...I think it's the medium bag but because the bag is so slouchy, it can look different when "posed" by professional camera people. I think that the leather Gauchos are the best Gauchos (especially the metallic and crocodile-embroidered ones), but if you want something that won't scruff as easily, the denim one is beautiful. I've seen the denim one at the boutique too and I think it looks really nice, although I like the more uniform-color Gauchos.

I just bought this Dior Gaucho off eBay (like a dumbass without doing the research) and found that it is a fake in reference to messages from this forum. Can someone please verify? The pics on the eBay sellers site were different from what I received. Here are pics from the white gaucho I received from eBayer lux_styles ....

Hi Filarican, I'm sorry but your gaucho appears to be a fake one. There are several things that point to it being fake, but the one major sign is the tag inside the bag, it should read "christian dior, paris, made in italy" all on the front. Whilst other dior bags are supposed to have tags with just "christian dior, paris" on the front, the gaucho has the extra line of where the bag was made (which would usually be on the back of the tag).

Additionally, something about the face of the man himself (christian dior) just doesn't look right (when i compared it to my gaucho). Also, as i think Mayday stated previously, the authenticity card in a plastic wrapper would point to a fake.

I think you really should contact ebay and seek a refund for this fake bag. Hopefully everything can be sorted out for you. :smile1:

filarican, I agree with zerodross that the gaucho is fake. I remember MayDay saying that the dust bags should be "Dior" and not "Christian Dior." Also the inside tag looks off. Mine also says Made in Italy after Christian Dior.

Thank you bubbleoba, I think MayDay's was one of the first threads I read that caught my attention about the bag as well. But what really drove the nail through was when I inspected the studs underneath the front bar buckle...there's only one! And the key that hangs on the shoulder strap doesn't have the word Dior carved out on the metal. Does anyone know of any other members here that may have been scammed on an eBay sale? I just want to know if I'm headed for frustration, although I went through PayPal so I hope they've got my back.

Well, it looks like the seller doesn't want to work with me cuz I'm not an "expert" in authenticating bags. I may have to file a claim through PayPal. Is there anything out there that would help me in this process to fight this claim? I don't live near a Dior dealer so authenticating it through them is out of the question. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi Filarican, perhaps you could try posting your dilemma in the "ebay forum" here on the board. (http://forum.purseblog.com/ebay-forum/) i think some ladies over there would have some good advice with regards to filing a claim when the item is obviously a fake.

as for the "expert" in authenticating bags issue, perhaps you could try to take a couple of pictures of your gaucho and compare them alongside a real one (where there are major differences). it's pretty damning evidence if the differences are easily spotted.

have you left a feedback for the seller yet? if not, please do leave her negative feedback and warn others about it. also, if you've funded your paypal purchase with your credit card, perhaps you can also try calling up your card company to see if there's any recourse there.

oh dear, i really hope everything would turn out fine and you'd be able to get your money back.
