This one doesn't look bad at all! I dare say it's real and fairly priced, considering the excellent condition.

My only concerns are with the lining which looks a bit shiny (but this may be the result of the light exposure). Inner tag looks perfectly embossed, unlike most of the good quality fakes currently on sale and stitching is OK.
Maybe you could ask for a close-up of Mr dior's face on the medallion to be 100 % sure?

Hi Lene long time no see ! yeah we havent seen May in ages...:crybaby:how is your precious furry baby doing? with Ebay you can always try to put up an auction with a Buy It Now price only and then see if it sells for that price ...this way you are not risking selling it for a much lower cost..

Yeah, May was a sweetheart  and it was actually her double gaucho I purchased because I knew then it would 200% authentic  eBay has so many fakes so I was too leary to go that route when trying to acquire one - too many horror stories! So I bought May's. I do want to sell it now because I have too much stuff and the bag really isn't large enough for me. I hate to see it just sit :s I know I nearly died when I got it, my first Dior!! :yahoo: But now maybe someone else could have that same feeling and actually use it! I guess I can try on eBay but they'll probably not trust me (though I do have 100% feedback from nearly 60 transactions). I don't know - still thinking how to go about it! My furbaby Annie is still SO sweet - isn't she cute with this gaucho in my pic! That's the same bag I got from May that I will sell to the perfect new owner! She is still the love of my life  her and my hubby!
I still don't know why May went off into the sunset - she was such an asset on TPF! :confused1:

I haven't seen any of the Dior 1947 bags in person but just from photos I've seen, the hang tag on this just doesn't look right. Any opinions? I'd hate to see someone spend that kind of money if it's a fake.

The first photo is one from the designer. The second is the bag on auction. I see quite a few differences that make me believe the ebay bag is a definate fake. Plus the price is just too low for this new bag. They also have some silly warning to Ebay in the listing trying to intimidate Ebay into not removing the listing!

A big fat fake.

Dior bags don't have a leather swatch hanging from the bag, the font and tag is incorrect, the colour is incorrect as is the authenticity card with it.

Why oh WHY didn't I find this forum earlier? I just recently made my first ebay purse purchase and I think I got scammed. The seller said it's a slightly used purse without the tags, but it is "100% Authentic". I already won the auction and received my purse, here are some photos of the purse:

http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c85/Elenriel/FlightOut2.jpg
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c85/Elenriel/FlightOut3.jpg (all hardware silver, it's the lighting that makes it look gold)
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c85/Elenriel/FlightOut4.jpg
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c85/Elenriel/FlightOut5.jpg

I thought it looked pretty good, even the zipper was smooth, smoother than my LV Speedy (authentic). That is, until I looked inside:

http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c85/Elenriel/FlightIn1.jpg (the tags are shiny (not patent) black, the lighting makes it look brown.
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c85/Elenriel/FlightIn2.jpg

I'm sure the tag is plastic and I thought CD embossed their leather, instead of printing with paint that rubs off. Please let me know if this purse is real or fake, and if it's a fake, what I should tell the seller. Thank you.

Your bag looks authentic, the tag is sort of a coated leather and dior tags can be either embossed or foil stamped.

It's quite likely the tag has worn from pushing a wallet or other item into the bag hence rubbing on the tag.

Are you sure about plastic :confused1: Did you do the needle test?:graucho:

I agree with chic, dior tags are either embossed, like gauchos or cannages, or stamped, just like regular saddles or ladies. I'm not a dior flight owner, but as far as I can see, your bag looks real.

PS Did it come with the orange flight tag or did the seller no longer have it?

Here's your model:

The seller no longer had the orange tag (shame, cause I had planned on carrying it with the orange tag on). This is what was said on the auction:

Q: Is this bag authentic Dior?Oct-09-07A: I don't have cards or anything, but I am selling for a friend who lives in Atlanta and bought the bag at Neiman Marcus at Phipps. It is 100% authentic

I did a bit of researching on this site and found this post:
http://forum.purseblog.com/dior/finally-it-arrived-flight-bag-182628.html

Suzygreenberg got her bag at E fashionhouse. Her interior is plain and her tag is grained leather with embossed lettering. Don't know if they have different interior for same line of bags. Moon, how do i do the needle test? :confused1:

If my bag is a fake, I have to say it's a pretty good fake. The leather is so soft and fragrant, I keep petting it... :shame:

As far as I know, when the bag shows logo canvas on the outside, the interior lining is plain. And vice versa.

To do the needle test, take a little sewing needle, warm it up till the tip is red hot and then slightly prick the fabric you want to test. Leather won't show any mark. Plastic will leave a (little) hole.

Your bag looks good but yes you're right, the tag looks different from suzie's. Looks like patent leather (what makes you think it's plastic) as suzy's is grainy (like my mine, on the saddle, i must admit it...) Hmmm your case deserves a little research :hrmm: Let's see if we can find some other shoulder flights to compare...

Suzy's was the monogram fabric flight whereas yours is the leather version.

Different exterior/style will often mean a different interior even from the same collection. Many times if the bag is monogram outside the interior will be plain whereas if the bag is plain outside it will have a monogram interior. This is not always the case though.

There are several different flight styles out there and yours checks out.

Your bag isn't a fake :smile1:
