Authenticate This Cole Haan

This is a Cole Haan large village tote that I have wanted for a very long time. My boyfriend recently gave me this bag as a birthday gift and he told me he purchased it off of ebay as he was unable to find it in stores or online (I wanted this particular color, too). I downloaded these pictures off of the ebay site he bought it from. They called the color "cognac" but I believe it is the luggage color. The inside is a yellow nylon color and the hardware on the outside is silver. I just wanted to make sure this is a real CH before I start to use it as I know there are a lot of fake bags floating around on ebay. Any help would be much appreaciated! Thank you!!

I've never heard of Cole Haan fakes, but the way the buckles are wrapped on this purse doesn't match any of the other ones I've seen of this style. It's making me a little paranoid

I have that bag, my buckles are not wrapped like that at all. I would pass too.

Too bad - I love this style, it is so easy to wear.

This bag is authentic... it's from the Village soft collection... there were several different silhouettes in the collection.. each had the leather wrapped buckles. there was no visibile "metal hardware" on the bags... they all had leather wrapped details, even the zipper pulls

It IS authentic. I was just over at a friend's place, and she had the bag, purchased at Neiman Marcus. Her bag is the tan color, but the buckles were wrapped the same as this one. Her bag and my bag must be from different seasons.

I bid on a COLE HAAN ZIP SATCHEL BLACK AERIN TOTE BAG

in ebay but it looks significantly different from what I saw in the Neiman Marcus site. Is it a fake or a discontinued version of the bag?

I think it looks okay to me.. but note I only saw it when a seller shipped the wrong bag to me. What do you mean by significantly different though? Perhaps it's a different (but similar) style in the same collection?

From what I can tell, the ebay auction looks the same as this bag I saw on Zappos.

Well the Neiman Marcus one doesnt have the zipper showing on top but is hidden by about 1 inch of the beginning of the bag. Also the one I bid on has that weird zipper tail on the end, and from what I saw none of the other same listed bags have that. Then there's the case of the zipper on the pockets which either have the small metal plate saying cole haan or the 2 screws that I can see from the picture you posted. I contacted the seller to ask why it was different but no response as of yet. Am I worrying for nothing?

Oh, that is true. I didn't notice the two screws! :o ..I would probably hold off on the auction since you're doubting it. It's not a current season bag so I bet more will come up for similar prices..

Anyone know if this is real? How do I tell, when I meet up with the seller, if this is authentic?

I love the color and the versatility of the bag, and it looks to be a very soft leather, but I refuse to endorse the illegal production of fake bags, not to mention funding the whole child/slave labor industry... so if its fake I certainly don't want it.

Any thoughts?
