All are authentic. #1 is vintage. It was made around 1992-1993. The second one was made in 1997 so it isn't vintage. It is a large briefcase-type bag. The third one is an Italian Madison Gracie made in 1996. It is a small bag.

Whateve, thanks a lot! I bought #1 n #3. Considering #2, will buy if I really can't find in other color [emoji7]

All of them are genuine. None of them were EVER called Speedys - Coach never used that name, and I don't think they used the term Doctor Bag officially either. The first is probably from 1990, the second and third from between 1988 and 1990, and the Baxter was made in 1992 or 1993.

You can wait for Whateve to answer your question about cleaning the handles, although I'm sure that if you search for the subject in the Rehab & Rescue thread there should be quite a few posts on the subject.

As for roominess, I've never owned both for comparison. They're almost the same dimensions but the extended top opening on the Baxter could make a big difference in how roomy the bag actually feels, just because it's much easier to get things in and out.

Ladies..Would you be so kind as to take a look at this bag? Comparing it to other bags of same era it appears to be identical. The only thing that I find a bit worrisome is the creed stamp. I realize many bags made in Italy did not have numbers but I was wondering about the time frame for this bag . All the others I found had a made in China stamp & was quite different from this one. I just found it odd this one would be made in Italy. Any light you can shed on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks as always!

I'm not comfortable recommending that bag. A bag that size and style should have a serial number on the creed. (And although there are some strange texture marks, it doesn't appear that there ever was a serial number. Additionally, the stamping within the creed seems uncentered and too far down from the top row of stitching.
ETA: Please do NOT report.

Please wait for other opinions on this one!

ETA again: I just realized that the listing has ended. If you are the winner and haven't paid for it, I recommend holding off until you get more responses.

Thanks BB..I will pass that message along to my daughetr. She just saw a good work bag but, bargain or not..it was advertised as Coach so that is what she should receive. No, not paid for yet. Awaiting other opinions, but I agree fully with you.

Note that there have been some very close fakes of the 65th anniversary bags. In fact, somewhere else (I'm too lazy to find the link), I posted detailed pictures showing side-by-side pictures of fake 10341 bags vs. authentic.

Here are a few more comps of the listing in question from wchris2013 vs. some authentic bags.

Note that I can't find a listing for an authentic bag with a single strap (attached at the sides) that has the (for lack of a better word) over-the-top strap.

Although the comps are for slightly different styles (since I can't find the same one), the pictures show the lack of detailing on the pockets and on the strap of wchris2013's bag vs. other authentic bags.

Again, I do hope others can chime in.

There's nothing that helps us prove that it's genuine except for the fact that there doesn't seem to be anything other than the creed stamp that proves it's fake either. There's always a chance that the plant simply made a mistake. And it's more likely that the Italian plant would have let a mistake like that through than it would have been for one of the US plants to do so.

Take it from someone who's both sold AND owned a ton of Italian cars, the plants screwed up a lot and weird problems slipped through. That's why mechanics who specialized in Italian cars were never short of work. I probably helped send at least a half-dozen of their kids through college. :graucho:

ETA - Replying to BB's post above - Good points. There were other styles that were made a few years before the 65th Anniversary bags but I haven't found any yet with those same pocket details. I'm still just going to call it Questionable. I seem to remember having other similar styles come up for questioning back then but I can't remember what we decided.

There's no way I'd take a chance and buy it though.
