The irony. Pumpkin colored bucket. Am I right to be scared by the creed patch and font? At your convenience. Tia.

So appropriate for the season! You are correct. Be very scared!

ETA: I'd exercise extreme caution if buying from TheVintagemints.

The seller has a lot of Coach (and not-Coach) items and for a seller who sells as much as this seller, she should know what needs to be shown in her listings. Many listings don't have enough of the right pictures for the seller to prove authenticity or for buyers to do their due diligence.

This is an example. NOTE: I am NOT comfortable with this listing. I wonder if TheVintagemints avoids the creed for a reason!

And don't expect Etsy to respond to reports of fakes. Unless the seller is honest and takes down a listing herself, Etsy is useless, IMO.

Thanks BeenBurned for confirming! Do these volume Coach sellers think they are fooling anyone besides the uneducated with listings that show unclear Creeds or omit them altogether?? Or my all time favorite, a high volume seller that on one listing, only shows the four style numbers, but not the month, year or plant!! Someting to hide??

I agree, there's NO way I'd be comfortable with any listings and especially not descriptions from TheVintagemints

EVERYTHING about the orange Bucket Bag is fake including every font and detail on the creed. And that style number 9019 wasn't even introduced until 1997, not 1994.

As for her descriptions :
"Coach Brown Bonnie Cashin" - even if the unreadable serial prefix is valid, the style is from the early part of the 2000 decade when not only had Cashin been parted from COACH for almost 30 years but she'd also been parted from her mortal existance for at least 2 or 3 years too.

And not one but TWO fake Prairie Bag listings:
https://www.etsy.com/listing/545575971/coach-prairie-tan-glove-leather-velvet?ref=related-3
Coach ~ Prairie ~ Tan ~ Glove ~ Leather ~ Velvet ~ Great ~ Unique ~ Unisex ~ Stylish ~ Medium Size ~ 10" X 8" X 4"
$98.50

and

Coach ~ Prairie Bag ~ Tan ~ Glove ~ Leather ~ Mint ~ Awesome ~ Vintage ~ Recycled ~ Medium Size ~ 10" X 7" X 3.5"
$124.50
First pics look dark brown, then tan. Fake turnlock leather tab, fake serial with the wrong font
https://www.etsy.com/listing/544354271/coach-prairie-bag-tan-glove-leather-mint?ref=related-7

THESE TWO FAKES ARE THE SAME BAG USING DIFFERENT PHOTOS, AND BOTH HAVE THE SAME FAKE CREED AND SERIAL WITH DIFFERENT PRICING.and exactly the same fake leather turnlock tab padding and the same leather markings on the creeds.
Both are active listings and the seller claims "Don't miss out. There's only 1 available and 1 other person has this in their cart right now."

At first I was wondering if the questionable Prairie Bag Been Burned mentioned might be the same bag, but the wonky padding above the turnlock isn't quite the same. But the padding itself points to that one being fake too even without a creed photo. Sheesh, my head's spinning from trying to figure these out.

Here's one that might be genuine (all of these have different listing numbers). No creed photo but the seller says it's C9C-9954. This one also has the CORRECT base with NO center seam, unlike the fakes already mentioned. Genuine Prairie bags from what I've found after a quick search have no seam at all on the outside of the base, the sides and base of the Prairie are just a single piece of leather that wraps around 3 sides. I want to do a bit more searching to confirm that though, as my coffee gets colder and colder ... Please correct me if anyone has different information.
ETA - Confirmed, Prairie Bags have no seams through the base, just a solid piece of leather forming the base and sides. Any of that seller's "Prairie Bags" with vertical seams on the outside or inside through the base are fake.

DO NOT BUY FROM SELLER " TheVintagemints " ON ETSY !!!

Of course! Do you think none of them are either tPF members or readers?

A pic of a serial PREFIX is often a better indicator of a fake than the pic of just the style number. A lot of fakes especially of classic pre-China leathers have incorrect or invalid codes in the prefixes.
Avoid all selllers who play those games no matter how good a specific listing might look. And I don't have to repeat that we strongly recommend avoiding the SITES that close their eyes to that kind of behavior or that refuse to protect their buyers from accidental or deliberate crooks.
