Hello, I sold a coach Crossbody for mys sister a last month. The buyer is claiming it is fake. My sister bought it directly from Coach so I know that it isn't fake. I'm just looking for validation of that. Thank you.

It is a Coach F51216 Peyton Dream C Black & White SwingBack Crossbody made of canvas.

Here is a link to the original listing. http://www.ebay.com/itm/122185312299?ssPageName=STRK:MESOX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1561.l2649

The buyer believes it to be "fake" because there is no creed stamp and she also thinks the patent leather straps are made of "very cheap stuff." I explained to her that not all crossbody's and wristlets Coaches have Creed tags on the inside as Coach considers them accessories. She has yet to respond.

Thank You

All The Best

It's genuine. And you're absolutely right, smaller Coach bags and pouches very often didn't have creed patches, and if they did the patches might not have serial numbers. This has been mentioned dozens of times here at tPF, and also in several of the Salearea Coach Guides posted at Ebay. Your buyer is basing an opinion on some totally wrong information.
http://www.ebay.com/gsr/i.html?uid="salearea"&rmvSB=true

The one on the mistakes and outright lies found in many so-called "authenticity guides" says
"THE CREED STAMP RULES
First of all, just having a creed stamp or a serial number DOESN'T prove anything's genuine. Almost all fakes have creed stamps and numbers, often accurate ones that match the bag's style.

Also, not all Coach items have creeds or serial numbers. Aside from the obvious items like wallets (although I've seen maybe 6 styles with genuine creeds) small bags that Coach considers ACCESSORIES such as Swingpacks, Pouches, Demis, Cosmetic Bags, Crossbodys - anything small enough to fit into a larger purse - may or may not have a creed patch, and those patches may or may not have serial numbers. There are no Rules about what style gets and doesn't get patches and numbers. NEVER assume that a smaller bag is fake because it doesn't have a creed. When in doubt, ask at Ebay's Purses forum or other purse authentication venues..."

As for the feel of the strap - patent leather isn't going to feel like regular leather. Just because it isn't what she expected doesn't mean it's fake. And you already have the correct name for the bag, it's a style made for the Coach Factory Stores about 3 years ago. There are 5 others currently listed on Ebay, at least one of them has photos right from Coach's website, and NONE of them have creed patches

The first one looks ok.

The second seller needs to show a photo of the creed patch and serial number, although I don't see any obvious problems with the bag.

More opinions are welcome.

Hi there, i'm new here ^^
Can you please authenticate this bag? Thank you so much
Item: Coach Rogue
Listing number: 201764159651
Seller: ubercalgal
Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/201764159651
Comments: I just bought it and thought it's authentic, but after saw the taobao rogue, I'm not so sure anymore.

I don't recommend the first seller ubercalgal or her listings. Most of her listings use all stolen pictures and show none of the actual bags the buyers are bidding on so there's no way to authenticate her listings. Even in the listing you asked about, the first picture is a stolen stock photo and though the other images are someone's pictures of a bag, there's no way to know whether the pictures are the seller's own or if she also stole them from the internet. And even if they are her own pictures of the actual bag, the pictures shown aren't adequate for authentication purposes. (And although there are some members who will tell you that styles are "too new" to be faked, that's inaccurate and misleading. NO BAG is too new for the fakers to copy if they think they can make money.)

Thx a lot for your response, i'll post more pictures once I got the bag, hoping it'll be an authentic bag...=( Why oh why did I act on impulse...

First, my editorial comment: I hate that Coach keeps changing things, making it more and more difficult to authenticate items. First it was the removal of serial numbers on creeds, replacing them with white "production info" tags buried deep inside the bags "somewhere." Then it was the 1941 collection bags, with creeds with serial numbers that aren't random, aren't with "style numbers" matching the style number of that bag and seem to be numbers that were pulled out of thin air! (If anyone knows what 20315 means, I'd love to be educated!)

I believe your bag is one of the latter referenced above. The style number isn't 20315 as shown as the "presumed" style on the creed, but rather 38124. I do think the bag you got is authentic though I stand by my opinion that ubercalgal should be doing her own work, taking her own pictures, writing her own descriptions and preparing GOOD listings!

I do have one last request. Does your bag have tags sewn either into a pocket or into the lining on the main large interior compartment? One tag would be a "made in" label and the other would have what appears to be similar to a serial number. You may have to dig to find them, possibly pulling the lining to the outside.

The following listing is a good one of the same bag that shows both the creed and serial, RG-20315 as well as the tag showing the style number as 38124.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/NWT-Coach-1941-Rogue-Bag-Black-Glovetanned-Pebbled-Leather-38124-BPBLK-/172372995216?hash=item28223b2c90:g:mcAAAOSwYIxX~qoO&nma=true&si=HYccTfWv5OQJb%2BZqMZgbBqlf9VE%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

And the following images show the tag and the creed for the bag.

Welcome to TPF!
(For future requests, please refer to post #1 for the information and format we need for requests.)

Please ask the seller, alemke2775
to either (prefereably) post or send a picture of the labels/tags from inside the bag. One would be the "made in" tag and the other is a white label with productions information. The white label should be either in the lining of the main compartment or deep inside the zipper pocket.

I think they are fake. The enameling is uneven. In some places, the silver of the word "Coach" is partially or completely covered up, and it looks chipped.

There's no way to authenticate that listing.

Many of the pictures used by brincbet were stolen and the description plagiarized from Coach's ads. Not only is that an infringement on Coach's intellectual property but for a style as highly faked as swaggers (and some other styles), it's really important for sellers to show many clear and well-focused pictures.

Of the few pictures brincbet does show in the listing that weren't stolen, those pictures are so unclear, distant, poorly focused and don't include additional pictures needed to authenticate the bag.

Hi- please help to authenticate two small Coach bags in my possession. Both are small "drawstring" styles, 5"diameter bottom, 6.5" tall, 6.5" wide top when drawstring is open. Long double drawstring strap with drop up to 20" . I thought they look like a Littleton bag (?) but style numbers do not match. Was there another similar style? Also, the joints on the drawstring on both bags look sloppy with uneven stitching and raw edges, i will include closeups. Each bag has it's lozenge tag, split in both cases. Thank you!
