When you get it and take pictures, I'll look again.

Ok BB, whadya think?
It feels much lower quality than the bag - faux leather center, lightweight dogleash clips, and the shoulder 'pad' (torture device?) is plastic. The fabric colors match the bag but the clips are gold while the bag hardware is gunmetal-ish.

LOL! My suggestion to take pictures was in reply to a post from cl34 about a bag she'd asked about.

But in answer to your question, I don't believe that strap was made by Coach. Other opinions are welcome!

I only have one picture of this style in my files and it shows a strap made completely of webbing material. So I don't think the strap is original either but I don't know if the strap in my picture is correct.690 olympics duffle 17 x 9 x 9.JPG

  • If the bag in question is not on an auction site, please use the following:

Item Name (if you know it):
    Link (if available):
Then attach any photos (all authentication must include photos.)
    • Please be sure to include a clear readable photo of the creed stamp and serial number from inside the bag or accessory if there is one, and the bag's measurements when the bag is an older or vintage leather Coach.
    • Since mid-2014, Coach stopped putting serial numbers on creeds so in newer bags where the creeds don't have serial numbers, we also need to see pictures of the labels/tags from inside the bag. They are either both in the main open part sewn into the seam of the lining, or one might be buried deep inside the zipper pocket. One shows where made and the other has a serial number.

Hello,
I am hoping you can help me to authenticate this bag. I just received this bag that I ordered off of overstock.com. My first designer bag ever. https://www.overstock.com/Clothing-...ather-Carryall-Tote-Bag/13769354/product.html
Coach Crosby Black Leather Carryall Tote Bag
At first I was surprised there was no serial number but reading about it on the Internet I see that that's not the case for newer bags. The leather stamp is very hard to read however.
I have attached a few photos and appreciate any help you can offer. The hang tag is not leather, it is metal and the dust bag is white.
Thank you.The box was not labeled/address from overstock but from Vinny Rossi in NY. it was packaged very well.
One thing that is strange to me is the fabric on the lining has an imprint of coach, but the word "coach" is backwards in some places.
Thank you.

Hello ladies! I was hoping you could help me authenticate these bags. Thanks for your help. :)

Item: Vintage Hampton's Tote (?) 9554
Listing number: N/A (in my possession, gift)
Comments: This one came with a wallet- I'm not sure if they were actually supposed to go together because the lining is different, but the leather color and stitching are the same.

I'm not exactly sure how Overstock works but I think it seems to be similar to Amazon in that both seem to sell their own items but also allow independent sellers to sell items on the site. I believe your seller "rents space" on Overstock.

The bag you've shown in the pictures looks fine and you got lucky.

The thing that bothers me about that listing is that the seller doesn't use his own pictures of the actual item but instead, shows just one picture and that one is Coach's stock photo. When sellers do that, there's no way to authenticate (from the listing) because there's no way to know what the seller will send buyers. They could conceivably be showing the Coach picture but sending fakes (and there are many dishonest sellers who do that.)

Honest sellers on any site should always do the work involved and show their own pictures of the actual item(s) they're selling.

Both sets of pictures show authentic items.

Ebay used to have "misleading" as one of the listing violations but in their continuing attempts to eliminate any transparency, they removed that report reason. So as long as the bag is authentic (which it is), we don't have a valid reason to report skskinner1960's listing however with a 97% feedback score already, she can't afford too many more negs or SNAD disputes without the risk of losing her right to sell on ebay.

I wonder if it's possible that she may not be aware of the alteration. While it's the most shoddy job I've seen, it's something she may not even have considered disclosing if she didn't do the work and doesn't know what a "real" Prairie bag looks like. Although I don't mind being told about an error or omission in my listings, I don't know how she might react to a heads up about this bag.

I also thought about the possibility of the seller not knowing about the changes, BeenBurned, because this Prairie and a Sonoma she's also selling look like sort of accidental items in her inventory. BTW, that Sonoma looks suspiciously glossy to me, but this could also be excessively bright lighting... Anyway, I totally agree about some people reacting unpredictably to the unpleasant news - and, judging by her feedback response, she might as well be one of those people.

Hi
Bag item: Coach Kelsey Medium

Can someone help me Authenticate this bah. A friend of mine wanted to resell this bag to me. She said it is authentic. She doesn't have an ebay or anything.

I would really appreciate it if you can help me out.received_10210201371824016.jpeg received_10210201371784015.jpeg received_10210201532308028.jpeg received_10210201532268027.jpeg received_10210201532228026.jpeg received_10210201532188025.jpeg

The strap was definitely NOT made by Coach.

Thank you all for confirming my suspicions about the strap - in the trash it goes!
I think the original strap was probably webbing like in Whateve's pic with a leather sliding shoulder pad, based on other online examples.
