It is authentic. It looks like a compact pouch but those usually have sewn on straps. This one is an earlier style and I don't know if I've ever seen one like it. I don't know if it had a different name.

Since that second bag is about 7x7, Whateve is probably right about it resembling a Compact Pouch (measurements are really important when trying to ID or authenticate vintage Coach purses BTW, thank you for including them). I only have a few early Coach catalogs but it's not in any of them. Very late 1970s or early '80s would be my guess. Coach did a lot of fiddling with different strap styles during that period.
