This is my own eBay listing.

It was made in August 1996. Usually 'I' isn't used for the month code to avoid it being confused with number 1, however anomalies are not uncommon and this one was made in the Hungary plant.

You might might to read these, the first one explains how to decipher serial numbers.

I fell in love with this bag. Please authenticate. Creed no. is N8G 9301. The N has me worried.

There's NO way that it's genuine. A US plant normally wouldn't make that kind of mistake for the month code. And while the G plant code was used for a US plant in 1998, both the fonts and formatting of the serial number in the genuine G palnt bags are totally different than what's in this one. The fonts used in the body of the creed stamp AND in the Coach logo are also wrong. You can also see a faint hint of a full stamping impression on the right side of the serial number that shows the wrong kind of stamping mechanism was used.

In addition to the creed and serial mistakes there's at least one major mistake in the bag itself but I'm not going to go into detail on that. The creed mistakes are more than enough. There are also mistakes in the colors AND the style itself if we're to assume that like in other plants where the N was mistakenly used as the month code, the N should have been an A for the first month in 1998. LOTS of mistakes on this one.

Pictures below - genuine ones on top, the fake on the bottom.

Hi, there. Is this bag genuine? the serial seems heavily stamped and I thought this style wasn't old enough to have a unique identifier.

It is fake. The number is probably on the fakes list. It has fake overstamping marks and the zipper pull is wrong. You can also see the inside pocket zipper doesn't go all the way to the ends of the pocket and has the wrong kind of pull.

VERY fake. Those heavy thick overstamping lines are completely wrong, in fact ALL the stamping details are wrong. There's a border around the serial, the Coach logo is wrong, the creed font is wrong, and the number is on the Fakes List here and at Ebay.

BTW, many of the Lightweights/Sohos are more than old enough to have a 4+3 serial number.

Thank you so much Hyacinth for the valuable creed lesson! I really appreciate it.
Will report.

Thanks, guys. The color seemed a bit off to me as well. Thanks for the info about that style being old enough for the 4/3 serial number.
