I am too lazy to use my laptop or desktop. I guess a screen larger than 7 x 11 might be in order in the future! Saffiano clubhouse!? See, now I have learned something else from you, again!
Glad I could help. I'm afraid to buy anything on ebay without looking at it on my desktop. I'm afraid there will be flaws I'll miss if I rely on my phone.
I did tell her about the zipper. I really did everything I could to convince her that it was real but she was so sure it was fake (from the 15 minutes of Googling she did) that it made me start to doubt myself. Thank you. :)

Normally I am very good at authenticating in person, and I owe it all to you, Hyacinth, and your excellent guides. So thank you for that too!
You're welcome. I hope your neighbor didn't accuse the ebay seller of selling a counterfeit.

Can anyone authenticate this? I bought it from a neighbor for $10, she bought it on eBay. She thought it was fake which is why she sold it to me for next to nothing.

The reason she thought it was fake was the lack of ykk marking on the zipper (but it actually DOES have ykk marks) and that the zipper that hangs on the inside of the bag. I found a ton just like it on ebay and I told her that I thought it was real and she should keep it or try to sell it for more but she wouldn't be convinced. Thoughts?

I believe it is authentic.

You need to tell your neighbor that the brand of zipper used means nothing. Coach has used many brands over the years, and counterfeiters can buy YKK zippers if they really want to fool people. It is far more important to check other details, like the design, the creed, the label, the construction, the stitching and the quality of the materials. I agree that the zipper hanging on the inside of the bag looks bad, but that is how Coach has been making them in the last few years. Counterfeits often have the end sticking out of the bag rather than tacked down like in this bag.

It looks good to me too.

There's more information on the "YKK Zipper Myth" here:

Count me as the third "authentic" confirmation.

I hope your neighbor learns that her trust in the fallacies of the internet authenticity guides cost her money! (I just hope she didn't neg the seller who she assumed sold her a fake.)

I can't read the creed but there aren't any red flags.

Why do you think it's fake?
Thank you for your time and expertise Beenburned!

I really hope this one is authentic. But one of my friend has similar bag with this and she said something about the stitches in the bottom of this bag is a bit messy to bit authentic. She also mentioned about no usual coach metal tags. This is my first time buying bag from ebay so I got a little bit paranoid :)

Thanks again. Really appreciate it.

Your friend needs to stop reading "authenticity" guides! I'm assuming she found this information on the internet.

1. Coach isn't perfect! At Coach's pricepoint, you aren't going to find the level of qualtiy and attention to detail aren't going to be what you see in Hermes, Chanel or LV.
2. There's no such thing as "usual Coach metal tags." Some bags are leather hangtags, some have metal, some have metal pave hangtags and some have no hangtags at all.

In addition, hangtags can be removed, replaced or simply changed for a different type if the owner of the bag doesn't like what came with the bag.

Something removable can't be used as the basis for determining authenticity.

Did your friend have the same style? The stitches I see in the listing look straight to me. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Authenti...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
The bag is missing the hangtag if that is what she meant by "no usual coach metal tags". I've seen this style in person and it is very lightweight. You should be able to wash it and repair the stitching on the strap. Luckily for the seller I think it's too late. I feel a little guilty about buying it from her for so cheap. I might offer to sell it back to her with authentication so she can sell it for what it's worth if she wants to. I haven't decided yet, I might keep it because I did really try to tell her it was real.

Chocolate gives me migraines. :crybaby:

I'm so sorry! I can't imagine a life without chocolate!

That's sad, maybe someday they can figure out how to cure migraines or at least reduce the sensitivity to those kinds of triggers. Strong petroleum smells like asphalt and diesel fuel are mine. Strange, when I was a kid the one thing that always cured my headaches was M&Ms.

Well, I can't drink coffee. I can't handle anything with a stimulant except for chocolate. For some reason, the caffeine in chocolate doesn't bother me. So maybe we're even, but I think I got the better end of the deal!
Maybe, though I have two cups of good coffee a day. I wouldn't be able to have two bars of chocolate a day even if I could tolerate it!

I have a feeling that if I could eat chocolate I might have a problem stopping at only one. A bit like vintage Coach bags!
