The tab has an "elephant skin" wrinkle to it and that concerns me so my guess was the bag is not authentic? I'm no expert but I have learned alot from you smart ladies at TPF.
This isn't really the elephant skin we usually talk about. Because of the way the tab is designed in these bags, it has very little reinforcement so it is common for it to develop wrinkles like this.

And the last for today...a Salvatiion Army 50% off find.
Approx. 8"w x 9.5"h x 4.5"d. Strap 18" to stitching on sides.
1997 Sonoma Small Bucket Zip Natural Grain #4907?
Thanks and happy Sunday!
Just curious at how much this one cost you. Did I beat you with my ebay find? I got mine for $15.75. It was never used but had a mildew smell that I think I've gotten rid of.

I found this purse on a local online yard sale site on facebook. I LOVE the purse, but I really questions whether it's real. I've asked if the creed is stamped into the leather or printed on and I've asked for a better photo. So far, no answer. Can anyone tell from this picture if it's real?

The tab isn't really as elephant-y as the pics appear. It was probably stored with the tab curled, it is "wrinkly" but is already smoothing out. (Thank heavens!)

Thanks, though!

I hate the "elephant" leather - reminds me too much of what is happening around the base of my (aging) neck!!

As Whateve said, wrong kind of wrinkling. And those stretch marks we talk about sometimes happen on real Coaches but only in areas where the leather is under heavy stress like the bottom corners of overloaded bags. Wrinles from overprocessing and wrinkles from constant stretching and bending look different and occur in different places on the bags, fake and real. The fake stretch marks are usually longer, wavy and run almost parallel to each other, like the picture below with elephant-skin leather on the pocket and a misspelling, too-puffy creed and fake Coach logo, zipper pull and serial font.

It's a very bad fake. Coach never make that kind of lining for ANY bag, especially not a style 10124 which is one of the most-frequently faked styles from the mid 2000 decade. Any bag with that striped lining is fake. Did you happen to notice that the paired Cs in the pattern were at a 90-degree angle from how they're supposed to be, and that the entire C pattern itself is wrong? And that's just one problem from one photo.

Because styles 10124, 10125 and 10126 were so frequently faked, no one should EVER buy any bags with those style numbers without having a qualified authenticator check it first, especially from unregulated or unprotected sites like Facebook, which has become a dumping ground for all kinds of illegal and counterfeit items.

Get your money back if you can. Selling fakes is against US Federal law. The seller owes you a refund and any other merchadise she's selling might also be fake - the seller can't be trusted. If you try and sell it yourself you'd also be breaking the law, and donating it would just be passing on an illegal item to someone else. When found, fakes should be destroyed.

I didn't buy it yet, was waiting to hear back from you awesome people about whether or not it was real. Thanks so much for the info and for saving me $65 :)

I told her it was fake and sent her this link. She told me I ruined her ad among other very nasty things, then said she was going to post it on ebay. Yikes!
sometimes it doesn't pay to try to help people. On ebay you can be accused of harassment if you tell someone their item is fake. At least on ebay you can report the listing.

I am spending way too much time on ebay. However, I found this. Thinking it is a fake Coach bag? Leaving it for you experts to decide.

Black, leather Coach signature handbag with bag used condition
Item number: 321535013577
Seller: captnamerica28660

Your instincts are correct. It isn't even real leather. Real leather doesn't peel like that. It has that horrible signature lining. Even the dust bag is fake.
