Hello again ladies...I would appreciate some help.

I won a bag on ebay last night. The auction was ending shortly, and I did not have time to have it authenticated here first, so I took a chance. The seller had it listed as "Coach Vintage Hunter green/brown trim leather cross body shoulder bag"

She gave the dimensions as 8" height x 11" length x 3 " deep. Strap drop of 17", in pictures the straps look adjustable. Serial No. 004-1941

Here is the link to the original auction on ebay. I hope one of you will have the correct name for this bag, and if it's genuine?!

Thank you for your time.

It's a genuine City Bag Spectator style number 6790, probably from around 1989.

Whether this is a coincidence or not, I don't know but I do think it's worth posting.

As already commented, we've had posts in the past with the same serial number, often with particular sellers who seem to have an unusually large number of these "sample" or "limited edition" bags.

Another thing I noticed is that many of the sellers with 99999 bags are from New York and in fact, the seller referenced here, gagany is from Brooklyn, NY as was/is another prolific 99999 bag seller, randiesstuff. Whether they are connected, I don't know but it's worth mentioning.

In this post from 17 months ago, I found that randiesstuff had two listings for 2 different bags, both with the same serial number s gagany's listing.

Here's anotehr post from 5 years ago (to the day!) where Hyacinth commented that all the 99999 bags she had seen were sellers in NYC.

I purposely threw this out there because I knew it was questionable whether they were really samples. I don't see anything majorly screaming fake except that mis-spelling. Just wondering if it is done on purpose or not. Wondering if Jeb or any of the Coach employees would know. Do we even know if Coach has sample sales at all? Hmmm.

Looks like the bag went poof... I did not report it. Not enough information. Just suspicious.

If they do have sample sales I just wonder if they never planed on the bags going to secondary markets and made the creeds goofy.

Throwing some thoughts against the wall to see what sticks and what stinks.

There aren't any obvious red flags about the first one but we really need to see the creed and serial number.

The second one is a genuine Madison Copley Bag. I don't have any experience with rehabbing bags so the posters at the other thread who have experience with that kind of bag and leather are the experts.

This is just from my imperfect memory and what I vaguely remember reading years ago, but I thought sample sales used to be restricted only to Coach employees. And it seems like even recent samples, IF they were sold to the general public, would somehow be marked or restricted from being covered by any of Coach's regular warranties. It doesn't make sense to me, but of course my ways of thinking and Coach's are very different, that a one-off bag made probably in China (?) without the usual controls and oversights would be given a full warranty or at least not marked as being not covered by the regular warranties.

It WOULD be interesting to know if Jed knows the background of what happens to the recent samples, but he may not have the information or may not be able to comment on something that Coach considers restricted information.

Could someone please authenticate this Coach Bag?
From GW today...
Approx. 13”w x 11”h x 4”d Strap drop 9”
According to the wayback, a 2006 Soho Suede Large Hobo #8A16, yes?
I was unable to open the product page on the wayback to see color names...can anyone venture a guess? As always, thanks in advance!

TPF is glitchy again. I had to switch browsers to quote.

The bag is authentic.

Could I get another look at this Willis bag? I started rehabbing it, and I'm not so sure it's authentic. After I gave it a bath I saw it had a double sided hang tag, so now I'm totally kicking myself. (I know it's not a sure sign, but it doesn't necessarily look good either.) But if it is a fake, it's a ridiculously good one. The creed is M5B-9927
Here's an album of the pictures.
