It's pretty hard to narrow down to a date because they probably made both of these for years. I have a flyer that came with a bag from 1985 have shows the double purse #7180. I'm not sure about the single kisslock coin purse - the same catalog shows a smaller one #7155 which is 4 x 3.

ETA: I just noticed that the flyer is dated 1985.
Perfect! Thank you for the info :)

Authentic ? Found on ebay-
#1) Coach brown color crossbody shoulder purse C2T-9790
Seller:2010afar
Item#321466036850
#2) Vintage Coach Bag British Tan Leather turn Lock Flap Handbag #9790 USA
Seller: sunray966
Item# 281388166009
(this seller has two similar bags listed)

I don't think the first one's genuine. The T plant code hasn't been verified, and there is at least one problem with the creed stamp. The inside pocket zipper also is wavy and not sewn in correctly, and the stitching above the pocket doesn't seem right. Another serial I've seen from 2 years before this one with that T plant code has an obviously non-standard Coach creed and this one does too. I wouldn't be comfortable buying it.

The second one looks ok, and so does the older City Bag from the same seller.

HI WHATEVE! Welcome back! :flowers:

I'm doing a little closet cleaning and found this bag that I have NO recollection of buying. I have no idea where it came from or when I got it. I'd like to be sure it's authentic before I list it for sale. Can someone please authenticate it and maybe let me know the name. I found one similar on eBay and the seller is calling it Pelham. TIA

Pelham Zip, actually.

Is this an authentic bag? I've never seen it before.

No, it's a bad fake. Fake serial number that would only belong to a suede Berkeley Backpack, fake hardware including zipper pulls stamped Coach, hardware is silver which wasn't available in 1994, fake strap with rivets also not used in 1994. Please report if you can.

THE SELLER ALSO HAS ANOTHER COACH FAKE LISTED, PLEASE REPORT - totally fake and invalid serial number M4S-7414 that was never used by Coach, see the Fakes list posted at Ebay

DO NOT BUY FROM SELLER " sortiz48 "

Here's another reason not to buy from " sortiz48 "

This is a bag that was already sold with the same bogus serial number as the first bag:

I suddenly have a bad feeling about the Willis that I rehabbed. I just read a post about dubious L codes. If you could authenticate this Willis bag.

measurements 10.25" long x 10" tall x 3.25" deep with 47"-50" strap.

... and this one that came without a strap. Funny the screws on the top match the ones on the black Willis but are all reversed. The ones on the black Willis all have the screw heads facing the front of the bag which matches a few other "authenticated" bags. These all face the back of the bag. Does this matter?

measurements 10.5" long x 10" tall x 3.25" deep.

And while I'm at it if you could verify my Rambler too...

measures 11.5" long x 8.5" (or 9") tall x 5" deep with 40" strap.

The seller or previous owner may have removed the hardware to clean and polish the brass. I don't see any problems.

Remember, pictures of the BACK of the turnlock especially of the back of the oval plate where the 4 pointed tabs grip the plate are just as important as the front.
