Thank you for all your help here Hyacinth and BeenBurned. I have an open case against the seller now for a refund and reported this bag as fake or counterfeit.

Here is another website that sells Coach bags but doesn't post creed patch photos. Has anyone bought a Coach from ThredUp?

There is a $20 off coupon code that comes off your total purchase price which would make these purses a really good deal. So wondering how you know these are authentic since no creed patch photos are included.

This code is for new sign up members only for $20 off purchase http://www.thredup.com/r/QFP18A

I never heard of thredup but none of the listings I looked at have enough pictures to prove authenticity. The listing you asked about looks okay but I'd like to see a picture of the inside. There may not be a creed (because of the size/style) but there should be a "made in" label sewn into the lining.

Hello BeenBurned and everyone!

I usually find vintage bags at my local thrift store, but I found a more recent style today. As always, our authenticators are the best!

The particular bag in that listing you linked to is a Pouch or Demi and might not have a creed patch. But NO, I would never buy from a seller who doesn't show the actual bag including the creed and would never recommend that anyone else do that either.

It seems ok but I don't know anything about the style, or about newer wallets in general. They're almost impossible to authenticate and I got tired of ruining my eyes trying. :shrugs:

It's genuine. I'm going to guess around 1986-87 based on the color, Flannel Grey was only used a few times.

Thanks ladies...happy weekend!

LOL! In case you're interested in a bit of history on how "Foach," came about, here's an education.

Ebay has/had discussion boards similar to tpf where potential buyers could come and post questions to make sure their purchases were authentic or not. Sellers could also verify that they were going to run "legal" listings.

Well, all was well and good for years until LiveWorld took over moderating the boards. Sellers of fakes were insulted that their counterfeit and illegal items were called out as such and in order to not hurt the sensitive feelings of their wonderful *choke* sellers, authenticators couldn't use "FAKE" or "COUNTERFEIT" as adjectives to describe them.

Thus, Foach, Fouis Fuitton, Fooney and Bourke, Fermes, Fanel, etc. were born.

You can add the word 'fugly' in front of any of them!

Hi ladies, could you please help authenticate this bag?

Item: COACH VINTAGE Brown Messenger Cross Body Handbag #2358- NICE! EUC!
Listing number: 251592764029
Seller: buffchicks (832)
Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/COACH-VINTA...029?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item3a9418ea7d

Thanks in advance!
That bag is fake. The style number shown, if valid for anything is probably for an umbrella. It's certain not a bag.

ETA: Do NOT buy from buffchicks! FOr the amount of Coach she sells, she should learn a bit about the product.

Here's another listing for another fake with the same phony serial number and same thick font.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/COACH-VINTA...584?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item3a9418e0f0

ETA again:

Since the listings have been removed and I still had the windows open for the listings, I'm able to show the creed pictures.

Although the pictures you show of the bag you received look okay, had you asked here before bidding or buying, I wouldn't have recommended june4u to you nor to any other potential buyer. As a TRS (top rated seller), june4u shouldn't be stealing copyrighted pictures that belong to Coach.

In most of her listings, there's no way to know what you'll be receiving since none of her listings show her own pictures of the actual items.

With highly faked brands, it's important that buyers see what they're going to receive and good sellers should understand that.

I don't recommend june4u.

As another example of stolen pictures, here's a listing from june4u with another seller's watermark:

Here's the source of that picture:
