A lot of creeds and serial numbers from non-US plants from the pre-China era had unusual quirks. Please don't think that means they're fake. I'd be more concerned if they were perfect.

That bag is genuine.

Personally, I can't stand sites that require a membership in order to view listings.

Since you're a member there, you might want to make a suggestion to admin that some authenticators won't review listings and won't recommend a site based on their "big brother is watching" policies.

Without knowing the style number it's almost impossible to authenticate. But I don't ever remember seeing a Poppy with Legacy stripe lining before. And it doesn't have the Poppy zipper pulls, and the strap doesn't look well-made either.

I'd want a LOT more information and photos before I'd even THINK of buying it including pics of the strap and zipper hardware, strap clip, zipper pull, the clear Coach script charm, both sides of the magentic snap on the front clearly showing whatever is stamped on the two halves, and what the style number is supposed to be.

ETA - the newest Poppy bag I have is 5 years old so it's not a fair comparison, but mine has a special Poppy zipper pull on the main zipper and the stitching around the Poppy patch is slightly different. And in the ones I have with the Legacy lining, they've usually been careful to match up the stripe color on the open pockets to the pattern and colors of the stripe lining. But maybe I'm just behind the times.

Hello once again!

I have another thrift find, to authenticate...

Item: It looks like a Court Bag Style #9870
Seller: Local GW
Comments: it is about 9" wide, 8" tall, and about 3.5" deep. Drop length is about 20" - 22" inches (adjustable). According to the creed and serial number, it was made in 2002 in Costa Rica, so, not vintage.

Coach Suede Crossbody.
No creed Number
Made in China

I found this cute Coach at a local consignment store. I have never seen a Coach bag without a creed number, but this little bag feels like the real thing. It is also missing the the Coach signature,it is not in the lining or on the outside. It does have the tag. My instincts say its Coach, but I am not confident because it is breaking so many rules.

It looks fine.

I'm not sure what you mean by "missing the the Coach signature,it is not in the lining or on the outside" but not all solid color Coach bags have signature or lozenge linings.

As for this bag breaking so many rules, that's usually the rule with Coach. We've often said, "the most consistent thing about Coach is its inconsistency." Just about every so-call "rule" has exceptions.

It's fine. That's the correct wording on the creed. This bag has a tag sewn into one of the inside side seams that states the country where made.
