It's authentic.

15238 is a convertible Zoe but it appears your bag is missing the removable longer strap.

I found this picture of the bag showing the crossbody strap:

15240 is a similar style but a tote:

Thanks Been Burned!
I do not have the extra strap:nogood:, but the bag is nice and clean
you peeps are the best:D
Thanks RC

Grrrrrr.....There is a bag that you ladies authenitcated here for me. (Much appreciated). I am trying to sell it on a local buy/sell/trade group. The moderator refuses to post it because it doesn't have a serial number. It is a swingpack. She thinks ALL bags have a number. So frustrating!!

The fact that genuine Coaches that are smaller and considered accessories may not have creeds or serials is also mentioned in several of the Salearea Coach Guides researched by myself and posted by a highly-respected and experienced seller at Ebay:

Could someone please authenticate this Coach Leatherware bag?
From GW...
Approx. 7.75”w (at rings) x 7”h x 2”d straps drop 24” to rings
Late 80's-early 90's? Would love to know name and style number.
As always, thanks in advance!

It's a Minetta Zip from the Lightweight line, early 1993. The style number was 4123.

Hey all! I have 2 that need a look tonight:

1.

Item Name: Early Compact Pouch? I think I have seen one of these on the forums before - Straps appear to be the original ones (they have little anchors embossed on them).
Dimensions (inches):
- length = 7
- height = 8
- depth = 2
- strap drop = 19.5

Creed photo is the clearest I could get - Made in N.Y.C.

2.

Item Name: Clutch?
Dimensions (inches):
- length = 11
- height = 7
- depth = 1.5

Front and back are identical (no outer pockets) - It is quite similar in size and shape as the basic bag but doesn't have any brass D-rings for an attachable strap.

It's hard to search for "coach clutch" without getting results for the basic bag and convertible clutch so I'm not sure of the true name for this one. Any info is appreciated :)

Thanks for taking a look!!

From the measurements it's probably a Slim Clutch Standard, style 9560, from the late 70s or early 80s. Coach's 1981 catalog showed both sizes:

These are for sale in a Facebook group. Am I correct that they are fake?

You're absolutely correct - and really BAD fakes too. The brass hangtag was never made by Coach in any style that looked even remotely like that, and the leather hangtag looks like it was cut, stamped and sewn by a six-year-old. Which it probably was.

If the FB group has a way of reporting fakes so they can be removed, please do if you can.

Thank you, Hyacinth. May I use a screen cap of this message in my report to the Admin on the FB group? I did report them, but met with some hostility and aggression from the OP, so I'd like to use the screen cap to send to the Admin.
