Good evening everyone and Happy friday!

I just wanted to be sure that this willis is correct (mine). It measures about 10" wide x 10" tall x 3.5" deep. The creed inside reads B82-9927, made in Turkey. Thanks in advance & have a great weekend :)

It's genuine.

Also this Black Willis? J0C-9927
And, this pretty NYC bag...hope it's okay! Does anyone know the style name or number?
The strap is slightly tapered, it gets wider towards the bag.
TY again!

Both are fine. Remember to provide measurements on pre-1994 bags. I have no idea what the red one is. I thought it was a small shoulder bag but now I realize the strap is different.

ETA: Is there a leather piece covering the inside of the turnlock?

That red one's making me a little nervous. That's the first time I've seen a strap like that on a vintage bag, and the covered turnlock back bothers me too. Are there any stamped marks in the hangtag chain or on the back of the buckle?

ETA - Making a correction - there was a style available in both smooth and suede leathers with a similar strap, but it goes back to the pre-creed days and had the little metal Coach plaque, no stampings at all. Obviously it's not the same style as the red one but Coach did make a similar strap. I still haven't found anything to match the red bag though.

Can we see a clear Macro pic of the creed and serial number?

Yes! You're welcome. :D

I don't know of a link. I think Hyacinth mentioned it isn't something we want to publicize to make it easier for counterfeiters. I've just written them down as I've seen them.
Thanks, I'm writing them down as well. I remember reading something Hyacinth wrote about the plant letters for the USA factories, and specifically about the NYC plant letter. Since I usually only deal with USA bags that would be a great help..I will search for that post..or thread! Have fun everyone! SHERI

A is the New York plant. B, C and D were the next US plants. After that, it gets more complicated.

I have that blue one with the pre creed metal coach tag, but I still don't know what her name is...she has that cool tapered strap..

Is the back part of the turnlock on yours, the part that's inside the front pocket, covered by a piece of leather, or is it uncovered to make it easier to replace?

This is what I keep: style name, date of purchase, cost, color, year of manufacture and style number. I also have a place to put which scarves or fobs I use with the bag. I have them categorized by size. I also have categories for wallets, vintage, scarves, fobs, coin purses, etc.

For my vintage bags I keep the full creed number to help with authentications, and if I have the original hangtag (I started doing that because I remove them when I rehab so it reminds me whether I'll be able to find a hangtag to put on when I'm done.) I also am trying to take photos of everything in my collection.

I don't keep the original retail price but you might want to. It might be nice to have a stock picture too.
Catching up on old posts ... thanks, Whateve--this is really helpful as I've started a spreadsheet of my [small-but-growing] collection.

All the stamps had changeable digits that could be replaced or updated as needed. It's not unusual to see an older bag with two or even three different fonts in the serial number, especially in older plants or like in this case, plants outside the US. The Costa Rica font mix is unique and we can usually know exactly which plant made those serial numbers even if we can't see the country's name or plant code.

I forgot to thank you for this--thanks! :smile1:

thanks, beenburned...i'm right in the middle of 3 regular goodwills, one goodwill clearance center (where items are up to 50% off regular goodwill tag prices) and 2 goodwill bargain barns (where bags are $1, shoes & boots $1.50 and clothes $1.33/lb. Books, brick a brack and furniture at crazy cheap prices too). I've probably snagged a dozen or so $1 coaches over the years. Employees are not allowed to put items aside...even for regular customers. I've noticed lately though, if a bag doesn't have a hangtag, they are often missed and marked cheap and quite a few coach accessories have slipped through for $1.99 to $3.99...yay!
lucky you!
ditto!
