Hello Ladies! I have a couple of keyfobs I would like a little information on. First is a leather butterfly I have never seen before.....is it authentic? I think it is, but that and a couple of bucks might get you a cup of coffee. lol!

http://www.ebay.com/itm/28134704790...AX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_462wt_1151

The next fob has me confused.....no idea if it is real or not, but what's up with the 'oasis' stamped on the back? Was it possibly a promotional giveaway type fob?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/27149925133...X:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_2343wt_1151

Thank you!

The Butterfly keychain is genuine, in fact I own one. Style 92596.

I have NO clue about the second one. It's been discussed at another site before but we couldn't come to any conclusion. But since there's an outlet mark stamped into the hangtag I doubt if it was a special promotion. If anyone has seen this at the outlets or any legitimate Coach source please let us know.

Please help me authenticate this bag. Thanks a lot.

Item: Vintage Coach Black Leather Stewardess Messenger Bag 9525
Seller: mslpn9
Links: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Coa...5-/111360450077?ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123

The J plant code is usually fake when it's in bags from the mid to late 1990s with Made in the US creeds. The hangtag is DEFINITELY fake, the stamping, thickness and location of the hole are all wrong. The letters of the creed stamping are badly made and badly spaced (in the "mp" in "completely" and in "natural" they're actually touching each other), and there's another big red flag in the serial number. I don't believe it's genuine.

Good morning :) I have another bag for you to authenticate. It's another thrift "rescue" (I have a tendency to rescue old purses, especially if they're nice leather).

Item: black vintage flap bag. At first I thought it was a Ridgefield flap (9812) but the strap is attached with the dog leash style clips instead of buckles. Could it be a Penny Flap instead?

Comments: I got it for $9. When I first got it, the leather had some scuffing. After a couple of good conditionings, the scuffing is diminished. The leather is really nice, supple but thick. I hope it's authentic!

Creed and serial number --this was hard to photograph-- so I tried to get it with the light coming from a couple of different angles. The serial number is 456-6811, dating it before 1994 if I recall right? The Coach logo has "Leatherware" underneath it, and the "Made in the USA" is underneath the statement, which is consistent with the bag being old.

If the creed photos are too crappy for verification, I'll try and get a better picture when I'm home.

Thanks in advance!! :)

Actually, measurements would be a bigger help than more pictures. Also - is there any pocket under the flap, and is there a slip pocket outside on the back?

Comments: Another purchase prior to knowing about this wonderful group. I am adding a clear picture of the creed since there was not one in the listing. Wondering if that should have been my first clue... It was difficult to photograph as the bag is small and the creed is not on a pocket that comes out.

Authenticate please and thank you very much

It looks like a genuine Janice's Legacy from 2007

Hmmm....could the 'Oasis' piece be leftovers from the boutiques on the Oasis cruise ships?

'One of the interesting things to me was the amount of smaller shops on board the Oasis of the Seas.
I suspect that some ladies will find this boutique irresistible. They offer a full line of Coach handbags and much more.'

I forgot to include measurements, oops! It's about 9.5" wide, about 6" tall and 2" deep.

There is a slip pocket on the back. Then there's a pocket on the front, under the flap. There is also a pocket on the inside, but no zipper.

Hope that helps!

Thank you very much for time and information.

Please post a link to the listing or online site where you bought this bag.

Regarding the "expert" she's using, she's either lying and doesn't have an expert or her expert needs to get a job with ***************** because that's the type of experts they use.

In the future, please refer to post #1 for the posting format and information. There's a reason why we want to know who these sellers are!

I am sorry, I read the first post (I guess too fast), I thought that once you got the item there was not need to post the link, only if confirmed fake to be reported.

I will most certainly will, but if it's OK I will wait till I get my money back, I just asked the seller to refund the return shipping (as instructed by Ebay). I do not know how tihis will go from here.

There are many reasons why we request the info.

  • We want to be able to search the seller's ID to see if she has a previous history of selling fakes.
  • We want to look at the other current and completed listings to see if there are more fakes
  • We check feedback to see if there were previous allegations of fake
  • If a seller is caught with a fake, we will watch for removed or returned items to be relisted
  • Posting the item numbers of listings helps reduce the number of repeat requests for authentication. If someone is looking at a bag, they can search by item number and/or seller ID to see if the bag was already looked at.

It does, thanks! It's a genuine Pocket Purse, style 9755 probably from the late 1980s.

They're both genuine.

The color might be Tangerine but I don't have records of all Coach's colors, you'd have to call their Customer Service number.
