Hi :) I found this bag thrifting a while ago. I'd like to rehab it, but first I'm curious about its authenticity.

Item: It's a small tan flap with non-adjustable strap, measuring 9" wide by about 5.5" tall. I think it's style #9655.

Comments: I'm not sure how old it is. It has an old style serial number, all numbers, starting off with three numbers. I figure that means it predates 1994. It could really use a good cleaning. The leather is supple but dingey. I used it to test out cleaning hardware with Brasso before cleaning some other bag, but there's still some tarnish. There's no hang tag. Since I only spent $5 on it, if it's fake, it's no huge loss.

Style 9655 doesn't have a turnlock. It looks a lot more like a Dinky Bag #9375 from the mid-1980s and it's genuine.

Thanks!! :D

And thanks for correcting the style number! I was using Google to try to find a bag similar and found images that looked like my bag with the style number 9655 -- but just now when I searched for dinky bags, I found bags that look exactly like mine (except mine is missing a hangtag).

I'll be giving this bag a bath soon! :)

Please post a link to the listing or online site where you bought this bag.

Regarding the "expert" she's using, she's either lying and doesn't have an expert or her expert needs to get a job with ***************** because that's the type of experts they use.

In the future, please refer to post #1 for the posting format and information. There's a reason why we want to know who these sellers are!

I am sorry, I read the first post (I guess too fast), I thought that once you got the item there was not need to post the link, only if confirmed fake to be reported.

I will most certainly will, but if it's OK I will wait till I get my money back, I just asked the seller to refund the return shipping (as instructed by Ebay). I do not know how tihis will go from here.

Comments: Another purchase prior to knowing about this wonderful group. I am adding a clear picture of the creed since there was not one in the listing. Wondering if that should have been my first clue... It was difficult to photograph as the bag is small and the creed is not on a pocket that comes out.

Authenticate please and thank you very much

Good morning :) I have another bag for you to authenticate. It's another thrift "rescue" (I have a tendency to rescue old purses, especially if they're nice leather).

Item: black vintage flap bag. At first I thought it was a Ridgefield flap (9812) but the strap is attached with the dog leash style clips instead of buckles. Could it be a Penny Flap instead?

Comments: I got it for $9. When I first got it, the leather had some scuffing. After a couple of good conditionings, the scuffing is diminished. The leather is really nice, supple but thick. I hope it's authentic!

Creed and serial number --this was hard to photograph-- so I tried to get it with the light coming from a couple of different angles. The serial number is 456-6811, dating it before 1994 if I recall right? The Coach logo has "Leatherware" underneath it, and the "Made in the USA" is underneath the statement, which is consistent with the bag being old.

If the creed photos are too crappy for verification, I'll try and get a better picture when I'm home.

Thanks in advance!! :)

Hello Ladies! I have a couple of keyfobs I would like a little information on. First is a leather butterfly I have never seen before.....is it authentic? I think it is, but that and a couple of bucks might get you a cup of coffee. lol!

The next fob has me confused.....no idea if it is real or not, but what's up with the 'oasis' stamped on the back? Was it possibly a promotional giveaway type fob?

Thank you!
