Hi I am new! I have bought coach bags from both coach itself, the outlet, and Nordstrom in the past. But never fabric or used so I'm stumped on this one. I recently bought a Coach 19034 New Willis Cross-body Swingpack Khaki & Parchment White on Tradesy.com. It came with dust bag, care card, and price tag. I paid $140 which wasn't super cheap I thought. This bag is on both eBay and Amazon for much more and I am seeing conflicting creed stamps. The one I have is the standard "this is a coach bag" some I see including on Amazon have a shorter stamp saying something about made for 70th anniversary. Tradesy has a return policy for fakes so I would like to know if coach ever changes the inside stamp and if you know off hand of this bag would have been one. Everything else looks good except the handle see,s to be wearing a bit after only a few months. It is white though and I where a lot of black. No on creed for reference is h1276-19034.. Thanks for your help!!

We need to see pictures of the bag you received as well as the listing from which it came. (If the bag you got is the same as the listing and the listing pics are adequate, you needn't post your own pictures.)

Please refer to post #1 for the posting format and info needed.

Good day everyone!

I'm really confused right now. I just bought a Regina bag from Ebay. I never bothered checking its authenticity since it's vintage. I have never seen a fake vintage bag.

For reference, this is the bag:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/EUC-AUTH-VT...N-LEATHER-BAG-MADE-USA-J5C-9985-/281329802980

I received it yesterday but didn't open it until 4 am of May 11 when I got home. I was so happy and excited. I opened the box and really happy about the color. I didn't open the bag because I was tired. I went online to leave a feedback right away because that's how I am especially with the super fast shipping from the seller from Hawaii.

When I woke up around 10am, my sister asked me what was my package and I pointed to the box where the bag is. She said it doesn't feel like leather. My sister is not much into bags as I am but she knows leather vs non-leather because she see and examines my bag. In our house, we have tons of leathers as well as a couple of Hight Street bags. I checked the bag and I noticed that the inside is not suede and it doesn't feel like leather. I have a Coach Court bag and it's so different from the Regina.

I really am not sure right now if it's fake or not.

-First the strap that came with mine is adjustable compared to thin non-adjustable ones that I see online. I thought maybe she just provided a new one.

-Next, the serial number is different. All the other Regina bags online end with 9983, mine is 9985. Could it be just an honest mistake?

The stitching and everything is perfect.

I messaged the seller already. I wish I checked the bag first before leaving a feedback.

The pictures of the inside of the bag look like natural leather. It sure doesn't look like vinyl. Coach bags have the natural reverse side of the glove-tanned leather as the inside of the bag. Some skins have thicker naps than others on the reverse, and some leathers may be stiffer than others. The nap in the seller's photos looks shorter than usual but why do you think it isn't leather?

We can't base any opinions on how a bag feels because we can't feel it. All we can comment on is what we can see.

You can't base any decision about authenticity on ANYTHING removable, including straps, turnlocks or hangtags.
The original strap was replaced - Coach made that style with a very thin, removable, NON-adjustable tubular 50-inch long strap, which the seller may have decided to replace for half a dozen different reasons - strap broke, strap was too thin or too long, an adjustable strap was more convenient or let the owner adjust the strap as needed, etc. Like I said, a different strap doesn't prove anything by itself if the original strap was removable.

I don't even have a record of any style 9985, but it wasn't unusual for Coach plants to make mistakes when stamping serial numbers. COACHES WEREN'T PERFECT and neither were Coach employees.

Here's a listing for one I'm sure is genuine. Compare the details and take special notice in the photo with the mannequin on how low on the hip that bag hangs with the standard strap if you want to know why someone would replace it.

The details are right, the serial number has a mistake but the stamping itself is correct for both the creed and the number. Search Ebay for " Coach (9983,regina) " and see what I mean.

Your strap is the correct one for the bag since it was made after 1997 when they changed strap styles to the adjustable kind. Hyacinth just made a typo when she said it was non-removable.

Sorry about that, my notes had the wrong information.

Thanks ladies. I thought it was possibly another of Coach's inconsistencies however I've never seen a Court with a non-removable strap.

There were at least two different production runs for the New Willis styles, one was a 70th Anniversary version with a special creed and the other(s) just used the standard creed wording. That style even had several different linings.

Coach changes the inside creed stamp regularly, we just talked about a change in creed wording and punctuation that occured over a one-month period - Coaches change constantly. Read posts 3636 to 3650 about bags with #1276 creed prefixes and how they changed.

Thank you for your input. I definitely understand the strap. I prefer this adjustable ones to the other ones. I think maybe once I start using the bag, the inside will start to feel raw. The more I look at the the bag the more I get convinced that it looks and feels the way it does because it's not used. It's in mint condition. I for one hand have never seen a brand new older styles of Coach. The Court I have is from my aunt so it's been used and abused. I,in no way, think the seller tried to scam me. She was very descriptive of the bag. I think for the price I paid, it's a definite steal.

I love how the bag looks. I just have to get used to it being in mint condition and not as soft as the Court bag.

I apologize if some of you took my post as an accusation to the seller. As a buyer, I have the right to ask question before and after the purchase. I wasn't trying to return it. I just simply had questions. I also sell bags and questions from sellers after the purchase don't hurt or insult me. That's how buying and selling goes.
