Thank you so much Hyacinth and Whateve. I will contact the seller and let her know it is fake and let you know what she does.
Here is the seller's response. Personally, I don't think I should have to pay for return shipping.
What do you all think? Is that unreasonable?

TIA

The seller has responded to you and offered another solution to solve this issue.

Seller's message:
"I am so sorry, I was told just the opposite before I posted it from someone who works at the coach outlet store! I will refund the shipping one way and the purchase price. I would see if it fits in a large envelope with bubble lining to ship it back."

If you're satisfied with this solution, you can let the seller know by sending a message in the Resolution Center. If you don't want to accept this offer, we encourage you to send the seller a message with solution that you'd be happy with.

Could you please authenticate this tan shoulder bag? Any idea on age?

Thanks so much!

Whateve told you in her answer that linking to your own listings is against tPF rules. Please read them and follow them or you'll end up being banned permanently. Please remove your links.

Linking your own auctions is not permitted, in posts, signatures or otherwise. This includes eBay, Bonanzle, eCrater, iOffer and other auction-type sites.

Each image is a link to a different purse (there are 2), Do you mean they both look ok?

Sorry about the confusion...
I responded to your first post. See a copy of my response below:

Please remove the links from your post. It is against purse forum rules to post links to your own listings.

The first one, the court bag J0C-9870, is authentic. The other bag, with the 9965 style number, is fake. Even if it were authentic, it wouldn't be called a trail bag.

This shocks me because I didn't know that Coach was ever made in the Philippines.....I learned something new today!
Coach was and is made in a bunch of countries, especially in Asia. The only rule is that bags were never made in Korea, but I think I've seen some accessories that were made there.

Could you please authenticate this tan shoulder bag? Any idea on age?

Thanks so much!
Please read the purse forum rules.

It's lousy but I think that is the best you can expect. If the seller is willing to take it back without ebay's intervention, I don't believe that ebay will force the seller to pay your return shipping cost.

Buyers on ebay are really protected now. I received an item recently purchased on ebay that the seller claimed was in fine working order but arrived broken. He didn't feel he should pay for the return and offered to only pay half of the return shipping amount. I called paypal and they sided with me and he was forced to pay the entire amount for return shipping.
When a seller's item arrives not as described you can absolutely return it to them and get a full refund. The buyer shouldn't have to pony up any funds out of pocket to return an item that is not as described.
The bottom line is, if a buyer purchases something that is NOT AS DESCRIBED, as in this case, they should get their purchase price back PLUS the amount they had to pay to have that item shipped to them.

My advice is to NOT pay one cent for the return shipping, that's on the seller who sold you a counterfeit item. Paypal will side with you if that's how you paid........

I'll come back when I have pics on a photo sharing site....really sorry.....I've gotten in the habit of not reading agreements. Removed link from most recent post. Cannot seem to unlink others.
Thank you for your help!

Well, she opened an ebay case so she can't go to Paypal now. They won't let you open another case there.

I agree she should be made whole, but in my experience, ebay won't force the seller to pay return shipping, unless they've refused to work with you.

I actually got eBay to support me in my case. I asked the seller to refund me all of the money, she refused. I then escalated the case to eBay and told them I would not ship back the fake bag because it is illegal to traffic counterfeits. I ended up getting all of my money refunded and did not ship the item back.

I just looked up PayPal's policy on their site and their buyer protection covers purchase price and original shipping. No mention of return shipping. I am inclined to accept it and lesson learned--get it authenticated first :tpfrox:

Ahhh, you may be right there. I would urge her to emphasize that because she didn't receive the item that she thought she was getting (an authentic Coach bag) that she should get all of her money back which includes the price she paid plus her full shipping price. A 'reasonable' seller will get this. Her review will reflect how this is dealt with.

Just be careful that you're reading that correctly.......every buyer deserves to receive the item exactly as it was described in the listing. If it's not as described (fakes are certainly in this category) they you have a case to not have to pay the return shipping.
In my case I don't know if paypal covered the shipping (I hope they took that fee out of the seller's account!) but I didn't have to pay any of the return shipping and I got all of my money credited to my account.
I think you should too.
