OMG. are there many Philippine fakes? I bought this off ebay.ph listing: http://cgi.ebay.ph/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=131161606096

the color is really washed out, not like the other listings or on stock photos.

the hardware is substantial, not cheap looking. the bag smells nice like leather, the stitching straight and even. the edgepaint is brown, though.
Yes, there are tons of Philippine fakes and some of them are very good. Another problem I see is that the bottom on yours has the bigger croc squares all the way across. On an authentic bag, it matches the pattern on the rest of the bag, small at the ends, bigger in the middle, like the 5th picture in this listing. http://www.ebay.com/itm/AUTH-Coach-...493?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item5afeb6d4a5
I hope you can get your money back.

Not only is the color wrong, but there are NO photos of the creed patch and serial number and you should never buy a Coach without those. It's dangerous enough buying from sellers especially NEW sellers in the Philippines but buying without a full set of photos is just asking to be cheated. There isn't even a style or serial number of any kind in the listing. Please post a clear readable photo of the creed.

The seller steals photos from Coach's website for her other listings and it's easy to see that the bags in the other photos aren't the same as the main photo. Even without creed photos there are problems with the poor quality photos she DOES post. There's no way I would ever buy from any seller no matter where they're located who showed those photos.

The seller also disguises the spelling of the brands she sells in the listing titles so that Ebay's search programs can't find and limit her listings - that's another HUGE red flag and no one should ever buy from sellers who pull that trick, they're trying to hide from Ebay and doing that is against Ebay's rules. DO NOT BUY FROM SELLER ZAB27

I strongly urge you to return that bag immediately and insisit on a full refund including shipping - if the seller refuses, file a SNAD dispute with Ebay. And please don't ever buy from ANY seller especially from the Philippines without having the item authenticated here first. Philippine fakes are flooding the market and Ebay.ph isn't doing anything to stop them.

If you bought the bag from the Philippines, then I have no doubt that it's fake.

If you search (especially the Coach subforum), you'll find many discussions where we talk about the fakes there, how close they are, the tactics sellers there use to list their items and stay under the radar and other questionable ways they get away with selling fakes.

ETA: I posted before reading Whateve's and Hyacinth's reponses. I see that Hyacinth pointed out exactly what I'd referred to when I commented on "listing tactics to stay under the radar." By listing as "Coaches" instead of "Coach," perhaps ebay's software lets a lot of these types of listings go through.

Happy Easter Joodlz.

Was this your birthday present from Goodwill? Very handsome. I like that top handle. I recently got outbid on a red one. I'm going to keep looking.

It looks ok

Thanks Hyacinth!

Thanks...It was :) I had never seen one IRL, but remembered it from the wyback. It's a perfect size for me...and in very good condition. Red, oh yes, that sounds wonderful!

I think that's just a mistake made at the factory where someone didn't get the message that they don't use "I" as the month.

Thanks BB. It was a scary good fake otherwise!

Thanks Hyacinth!

Her twin is listed on ebay at the moment but in poor condition with a broken catch. Same colour and serial number.

The red was good but went too high for me.

Comment: interesting serial no?

Interesting, I had that same mistake in my files but the dash is in a different place. Top is this listing, bottom the one in my files.

There's a good example of why the position of the dash doesn't mean much when we're authenticating. Someone there got a bit confused about where it was supposed to go. The two serial number stamps are identical, it's probably the same stamp in fact. It's just the dash that's messed up.

Authentication for the following, please!

Item Name: vintage city bag?? (unsure of true name)
Dimensions (in inches): length=11, height=7.5, depth=3.5, strap drop=21

Thank you!

Here's one I'm having trouble identifying - I can't seem to find any information regarding this bag (at least in the few internet searches that I've done). It has the NYC creed but is without serial number. It also appears to be missing its strap as evidenced by small grommets on each side ... Can anyone provide me with a name and approximate age for this bag that is in definite need of some love!

Item Name: ??
Dimensions (in inches): length=11, height=7.5, depth=2.5, strap drop=N/A (missing strap)

Thanks a bunch!
