Not all fakes will have such obvious problems. Usually problems with the serial number are the first red flags.

Thank you for your help. I think next time i will post to this page before I buy. To the untrained eye that bag was a coach. I had the black one in 1 hand and the yellow in the other. I always go for black or browns and I decided to brighten things up a bit. I looked at the creeds of both and the both seemed ok. If that store was open right now, I'd go over to count grommets (among other things) on the black one!! The only thing I remember about that one is it was made in Mexico.

OMG this is gorgeous. What a great friend. Congratulations.
Thank you, Two.time.bags! I knew the bag was old, but had no idea it's THAT old. These days people use the word "vintage" too liberally, so I've become very skeptical of anything "vintage" or "antique". Now I have to take more pictures and post them under Coach rehab because I think my major task will be not to beautify this lady too much and not to ruin her as the result!

I agree that the font looks like the others we saw and confirmed as fake. Sorry.

$15 is $15 and since you got an illegal fake, I think you should go back for a refund.

Whether it's a thrift store, a consignment store and any other type of venue (even yard sales), the sale of counterfeit goods is illegal and it's the stores' responsibility to authenticate their items before putting them on the selling floor.

Even if they take it back and instead of a cash refund, allow you an exchange, perhaps you can find something for your $15.

Good point. It's worth a shot. The worst they can do is say no.

Hi, will y'all take a look at this one for me. Thank you. Mikie

Comments: no pic of creed but is this a real style? What's the bag name? Did Coach do other 2 tone bags.

Thank you!! I learned something and that's good.

Coach did make two-tone bags. This looks like a spectator classic hobo from the 1980s.

I'm sorry this happened to you.

Thank you!! I took a chance. I'll go back to the store tomorrow (before it snows, yet again) and see if I can get any kind of refund or credit. Luckily I still have the tag and receipt. What's bothering me more at the moment is the way back machine....when I find a listing for the hampton lunch tote it says the wb machine doesn't have a snapshot.
