I took the best pictures I could of the creed. Its kinda faded and hard to get a picture of because the pocket of the bag is not the kind that you can pull out. The creed reads that it is made in the united states and the number is A6B-9950. Its hard to tell it's a B but i used a flashlight to get a better look. Was worried at first because I thought it was a P as P is the Costa Rica plant code.

Comments: I'm not sure what to think of this bag. It has some weird quips. The leather kinda feels weird to me but sometimes you don't know what someone cleaned with or put on a pre-owned leather bag so it could just need a bath and conditioner. Also, the strap is a total of 51 inches long. I don't know what the length of a Janice's legacy strap is supposed to be as I don't own any of this style, but it seems rather long to me. Other issues to me are that on the strap there are 3 different spots on the edge leather where the leather stops and new starting piece is overlapping. There are also several spots like this around the buckle areas which i tried to picture as best as possible. From my experience, on this style of a strap there should only be one spot like this as they use a continuous piece of leather around the whole edge of the strap. Also it seems like there is too much leather hangover between the stitching and the grommets on the strap. Also this grommets are the smooth ones not the ones with teeth which i'm not sure what JL is supposed to have. The Hangtag is split but that doesn't worry me as the older ones tend to do this. Please take a look at all the pictures and give your opinion please. Thank you very much.

The first one is fake. I see more fake carousel bags than authentic ones.

The second one is a skinny tote 9456, probably from the late 70's. The third one is a Shelton bag 9917 from the early 90's.

The last one is a Monterey Flap. I'm not that familiar with this style but I don't see any problems. More opinions are welcome.

The 1996 ad for Janice's Legacy states the strap length as 52 inches. I agree there shouldn't be that many overlapped areas on the strap. The grommets look correct for this type of bag. I don't see any problems with the leather hangover between the stitching and the grommets, as long as it doesn't cover up the grommets. I don't see any problems other than all those overlapped areas on the strap. That wouldn't be enough for me to think it wasn't authentic. I'm assuming the measurements are correct for a Janice's Legacy. More opinions are welcome.

It looks ok to me too. Sometimes small details like those can just be explained by plant mistakes. Coaches were never perfect, we just have to try and figure out what mistakes would have been acceptable and which wouldn't. Toward the late 1990s Coach seemed to be letting a lot more mistakes slide by.
