Comments: Can anyone pls let me know if this purse is authentic. If it was produced/manufactured in 2002, I thought that up until 2004 the year part of the creed was only one number but then changed in 2004 to 04 (or whatever the year, a zero was added to the year). So if that were true, we would be able to tell this purse is not authentic by this Listing title alone? Or do I have that all wrong?? Thx guys so much. This auction ends in 6 hours and I was going to report the listing but I never report anything unless I know for sure it is not authentic. So thank you all :)))

A better creed photo would help, but I can't find that style in my files and without having pictures and a description to compare it to, it might not be possible to authenticate it. That doesn't mean it's fake, just that I can't verify that it's real. And the poor quality of the seller's pictures aren't much help.

I'm also wondering why there are two current listings by the same seller for the same bag.

EDITED TO ADD - So far this is the only style that it might be but the Wayback's records don't show any details or style number - Patent Demi Pouch from 2000

The style number looks like 19914. I've found others on Ebay US but only one or two in that pale orange sherbet color. Take a look at this listing and compare how the two different creeds are cut. The sides are always supposed to be straight and they're not in the bags from the seller you're asking about. The creed stitching isn't straight either and it's not squared off in the corners:

Here's one in Coral, compare the stitching, edging and how much of the black sealant around the creeed's edges is visible:

So no, I DON'T trust the listings from seller probird2010

(In answer to one of your other questions - Coach bags have been made almost exclusively in China for 13 years now. They're also made in India, Vietnam and the Philippines.)

You also posted about the color in a Horse & Carriage Gallery Tote "for some reason I don't think I've seen this shade of pink in any Coach Penny. I've searched and it's nothing close to this.. " That Gallery Tote is at least four years old and there's no reason it would be the same color as a Penny. You CAN'T compare different styles, only the same styles from the same year and preferably the same plant.

Oh I just started posting here, I didn't know I posted about the Penny on the horse and carriage gallery... what I meant is that I went on google and typed Coach Penny pink and I didn't see a shade close to it. I'm very sorry the confusion :sad:

And, I want to thank you for all the info you've provided, I feel so much smarter because of you!

I'm gonna check my Penny later for the creed and the advice you gave me and hopefully it's authentic.

Rather than checking Google, you'd have more luck finding pink colors if you did a Search at Ebay. Coach may have used a different name than just "pink".

If you search Ebay US for the style number 19914 Penny you'll probably find at least one of almost every color Penny they ever made:

It's an embellished Sophia. It's probably style #16356. There is a larger size #16343. I wouldn't bid on it without seeing the creed.
