It looks ok to me too.

ETA - Hope you managed to win it!

Since I multi-quoted before finishing reading, I'll add that I agree that it's 6359.

This was Coach's picture:

Thanks BB and Hyacinth. I did stay awake and bid but it went too high. The exchange rate is awful - $0.89 then add shipping. I've got my eye on another one, different style. Just got to win the bag I want to put it on first!

Bought a Basic Bag off ebay. I was confident in its authenticity.

Called Coach to get a metal hangtag for it, and the lady couldn't find the number or color for the bag..

Didn't the serial numbers change around a lot in the beginning? This is my first NY bag. My other vintage bags were made in the USA and they found those in their system.

Would appreciate any feedback. :)

The people you talk to on the phone can only look up bags that have a style number in the creed. I called about a NYC convertible clutch and they couldn't find it either, even when I told her what the correct style number was. Any bag made before 1994 is going to have a unique serial number. The color is probably putty.

Bags made before 1994, which means all bags that have only numbers, no letters, in their serial numbers, do NOT include the style number in their serial numbers. That includes all the Made in NYC bags. Apparently the phone reps at Coach don't know that, which is just one more reason why Coach employees should never be depended on for any kind of authentication.

Please read the Salearea Guides for more information, especially the ones on Creeds and on Serial numbers:

Just my opinion... Could also be the lighting. I had trouble taking pictures of the creed on one of my bags. This one is how it looked when I took a picture without the flash.

That's probably true, but we can't authenticate effectively unless we can clearly see the creed. It takes some experimenting, but it's possible to light the creed in a Janice's Legacy well enough to get a good photo.

Thank you!
I was confident in the bag, but this was the first time I have ever asked for a hangtag/talked to customer service on the phone... so I became a little insecure when she was not finding any results. I told her it was an old NYC bag but she didn't really know what to say.

Doing some catch up reading before I post some bags for authentication, and look what I find!!
Yes, karma is a B I T C HHHH!!!:yahoo:
By the way, I did not want to drag that woeful tale on, but as for the ending?
She never responded again, did not close the case but it ended on it's own when it expired.
Thank you all AGAIN for your help and support!

Now if only someone can tell me why I got two negatives in one week for item being "too small" when they were described as "small" and had correct measurements posted in two places in the listing AND this little notice in EVERY listing I post that says
"Please be aware that in the photos of the bag on the mannequin the handbag can sometimes appear larger, so be sure to check the measurements to gauge if the size is suitable for your needs."
What else can a seller do?????
It is not fair and very frustrating.:pullhair:
Besides that, neither buyer ever contacted me (I accept returns for any reason)
and when I wrote them after the FB I got no responses. Sigh.
Well, on to more punishment. I have some new bags for you guys to check out. BRB.

You did everything you could - the wackos just seem to find you. Did you answer the Neg by saying that the measurements were in the listing? And remember to keep your BBL up to date. A few sellers put a ruler in their photos but then either buyers want the ruler included with the bag, or they can't figure out the difference between the INCHES and CENTIMETERS sides.

Ebay used to help in cases of undeserved Negatives but that seems to have almost disappeared too.

I wonder if TXGAL8701 will try relisting the fake? Isn't it amazing that someone who claims to know about Coach and what real Coaches feel like doesn't even know the most basic and unbreakable Rule about Coach authenticity - that Coach bags were never made in Korea? So much for her "expertise". :graucho:
