Dear BeenBurned,

thanks for your research and links. they were really helpful.

the link to the bag is here: http://deluxemall.com/coach/164917-coach-embossed-leather-sydney-satchel-bag.html

it really looks fine to me too, except for the tag. i tried researching online about it but no results. :)

i will try to get the photos from her tonight, thank you very much for your help again.
Please do post pictures when you get them.

If it's any consolation and reassurance, DeluxeMall is very strict in its treatment of sellers who list fakes and/or infringe in other ways. Sellers who list fakes or steal pictures are promptly banned. (She doesn't give second, third and more chances to sellers who list a fake!)

In the brands I know and have searched there, I'm hard pressed to find fakes. Kelly runs a tight ship.

Without seeing the whole bag and the creed, it's not possible to authenticate the bag but the tag appears to be legit. It's priced in Singapore currency and probably originally came from a store in that country.

Keep in mind that Coach sells its products around the world and labeling would be in the language spoken by the country.
Hi, thanks whateve and BB. I like the style of this coat. I looked up the background of Sills and Cashin and it looks like it was from the mid 60's. I was thrown a bit because it is quite plain with none of the little touches I have seen on her clothing.

haha yes i am aware of that!

but there are still alot of cheats around in Deluxemall, they will always be banned, but these cheaters will be back with different user names, different HP numbers.

oh well. sure i will post photos tonight! thank you!! :smile1:

I saw a bag at Goodwill yesterday that stumped me...
It was a small, crescent/hobo, nylon zip-top patent bag with a single, short, smooth leather strap.
The creed had an X in the upper right-hand corner and the style number was Z4xxxx. I don't recall the first part of the style number, but I believe it was a fairly recent date code. Creed said made in China.

I saw the recent post about the Z indicating a bag made for tjMaxx or other retailers...and I've read that an X can mean a bag that didn't sell at a FP store...but the two together?

I know I'm flying blind without photos...hope I don't waste anyone's time, but any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, as always!

Nope, not a waste of time.

For some reason, they're putting X on the Z bags. I have no explanation other than the possibility that in the event that they're "reincarnating" boutique and outlet styles with the Z, they're trying to prevent an employee from accepting a return on one of them.

Although I've never seen defective X bags, I assume they're so deeply discounted when sent to the discount stores that Coach can't afford to service them. X bags aren't returnable, exchangable nor do they carry a warranty. And since the Z bags are sold to discounters, the price is probably so low that Coach isn't willing to cover them.

As has been said in the past, Coach doesn't disclose why it does what it does so we are forced to try to figure out on our own how they're thinking. This is what I've come up with.

Do some genuine Coach bags have silver numbers imprinted in the interior? Mine has it.

Thanks for this info, BeenBurned! I suspected the same about the X. I went back to Goodwill this morning, but the bag was gone. No regrets...it was kind of a Century 21 gold patent that, other than the novelty of the creed, probably wouldn't have a good choice for me :) So I found a better one (or 2)...stay tuned...thanks again!

Could someone please authenticate this Coach bag?
Bought at Goodwill today.
Approx. 8.75”w X 9”h X 2”d
No shoulder strap, no hangtag...can share with recently bought Willis.
1996 Station Bag #5130, right?
As always...thanks in advance!

And this Coach Leatherware bag?
From a church-run thrift.
Approx. 6”w at base X 7”h X 3”d Strap drop 26”
There's a little evidence of a "make-over" around the turnlock, but well done. It's in crazy clean condition inside!
I would love to know name, style # and age (1993-ish?) if possible. Thanks in advance!

Hello all, I am new here and was hoping to get some help on authenticating (or not) this Coach bag. I bought it on eBay. That's all I really can tell you about it. I've attached some photos. Hope I'm doing everything right. Thanks. Appreciate any and all help, in advance. Sorry if I missed anything, like I said I'm new!

I don't see any problems. And welcome to tPF!

For future requests, please read the very first post in this thread, it lists the information we need to do an accurate authentication, including the seller's name, URL of the listing page, and the Ebay (or whatever site it's from) item or auction number. Thanks!
