The leather used to make the old coach bags is why I have rapidly fallen in love with this line. They truly don't make stuff like they used to. I am now on a mission to expand my collection! :)
The Legacy bucket bag has scrumptious leather - very close to my 90's bags. I love my older bags but I'm also very happy with the quality of many of my new bags. My oldest Coach bags aren't as nice as the bags from the mid 80's and later.

Ok , I'm hooked, I found another one at the thrift store today.. There were three older looking bags , but I was pretty sure the other two were fake.. This one looked the most correct from what I've learned here.. It's heavy and soft too.. If it's real, I'll give it a great rehabImageUploadedByPurseForum1388872352.757446.jpgImageUploadedByPurseForum1388872367.252267.jpgImageUploadedByPurseForum1388872379.052026.jpgImageUploadedByPurseForum1388872389.011594.jpgImageUploadedByPurseForum1388872401.916570.jpg

It looks like an authentic Patricia's Legacy if all the hardware is the same color. I can't tell if it is nickel or brass. Patricias are pretty heavy bags. I'm curious about the bags you left behind.

I thought Patricia too, but you all know way more than I do, so I always ask first.. The other two were smaller, thinner leather, and they have coach stamped into the leather on the front of the bag of center in strange font.. This one just stood out to me.. Here's the hardware.. Can I really just call Coach and ask for replacement tags??

Sounds like you left the right ones behind.

If they were smaller, they wouldn't have been a Patricia's Legacy. And Coach not only did NOT stamp classic or vintage bags with the Coach name except for certain styles, but even on those styles that were stamped the name would NEVER have been stamped off-center. We've seen that on hundreds of fakes but you'll never see it on a genuine Coach bag.

Good evening!
Can I get your opinions on these two handbags?
1. Black prairie bag
2. Brown beaumont satchel

Thanks :smile1: as always!

The Prairie Bag seems ok.

I'm worried about the Beaumont. I don't have any photos saved of proven genuine versions, but the Holiday Preview 1998 catalog shows it as "New" so how did it get a September 1994 year and month code? There's always a remote possibility that it's a very early production version that was postponed until 4 years later, that double seam stitching down the front is also a style feature of the Lexingtons and Tribecas from 1998. It wouldn't be the first time Coach introduced and then put a style on hold for a few years.

If anyone here has a known genuine Beaumont, I hope they'll compare the two.

Interesting. That might explain why I am so thrilled with the few that I have already acquired. I think one is from the 90's which explains its awesome feel. I think I will try to find another bag from that time period!

I do hope someone else can compare the details. One thing I wanted you to note was the numeral 8 in the style number, it looks like it was upside down. I don't know if that means anything?
