Genuine. It's called a Scout Bag, style 9890 from 1991-92.

It's not exactly saffiano leather, I don't think. I don't own any saffiano so I wouldn't know for sure. It is part of the Gramercy collection. The lining is pig suede. I've never seen this collection faked. They didn't make it very long and it doesn't look like typical Coach so I don't know if counterfeiters would be interested in copying it. I don't have this style in my files but the details match other Gramercy styles. I'm not sure about the color. This might have been called wheat.

ETA: 5 of the 12 negatives were given by the same buyer.

I have several bags like that. They've been doing it on some straps at least since the mid-90s.

What makes you think it is from 1998? By 1998, creeds had date codes as part of the number.

Thanks, whateve...the "as is" criteria is a mystery to me...I see it most often on older, classic leather bags, rather than newer styles...go figure!
